RUDE RUDE AND MORE RUDE
i am totally shocked. I have been here before and has decent experiences, but the last two times you can tell they have completely lost their concept of treating their customers right. My husband and i went there for lunch, early as it was only 11:30. There was one group of six ladies in front of us. They asked to sit inside. We asked for outside. The man ( who was also waiting tables) looked at me and rolled his eyes and said i will to check. He proceeded to wait on a few tables in front of us, did a few other things, then went outside and came back to tell the ladies in front of us that he had a table for them outside if they wished instead. After taking them out he goes to wait in more tables, then comes back and takes a group that came in after us and seats them. When he circled back again i asked simply “do you have a table available outside?”. He said yeah…i do. I was busy. I said ok, i was just wondering because you just sat two parties ahead of us. He looked and me and rudely said “yeah…. And I’m about to sit another party ahead of you”, and signaled to the group of six behind me!!!!!! My husband and i were STUNNED by the unnecessary rude behavior. It was totally uncalled for. All we asked for was to sit outside for gods sake.!!!!! I am a Director in a very large medical setting and would NEVER tolerate treating anyone like that. I not only will never go back there as a business again, but will go out of my way to spread my experience far and wide to a very large audience. When she meets you for the first time, she looks you in the eye like you are about to be welcomed into a special club. She has a warm smile and a bubbly, confident air. She remembers everything you ordered and anticipates your every need. Your coffee cup is always full. You never have to look up for want of anything. She's already got it covered. She makes you feel special and lucky that she is serving you. And she always says, "My name is Sanchez". (Like we could forget.) And every time we go back, she quickly remembers what we like to eat and drink no matter how long it's been. Last time we visited, she carried our three large iced drinks and a hot coffee to us with her bare hands without spilling a drop and gracefully served us. She's the only one in the restaurant that remembers that Rick orders water too. She listens closely. She is proud of how good she is. She is the DIFFERENCE. Sanchez delights us. Every time. Read morePlease, please, please, update your posted hours so that they all match and are accurate. Boychiks is my favorite place to go for deli sandwiches in the Richmond area. Leading up to Friday, we had made it a point to get out for lunch and drive to the far west end of town to eat there. On the Boychiks website, the hours are stated as closing at 4pm, no caveats listed. On Google's listing, it states 3pm closing. Upon arrival, we pulled on the door, and it was locked. Looking all over the door, there was 1, but maybe 2 store hours signs, stating 4pm. As we searched the entire window, there was in the far upper left corner, fading hand written in maybe grease pen, (very difficult to spot, and then still difficult to read), hours listed as closing at 2:30pm. We were there at 2:05pm. A very nice gentleman came out to greet us and confirmed that they were indeed closed, and that many times they are not open past 2:30pm. I really don't think it would take much effort to update the website and the doors to state the time that you will always be open until, and then that you may be open for a little while after that if business demands.
Update 9/29/20 We have been back on 2 different occasions, and signage was better. Not back to 4 stars overall yet, but...
