Our family planned to have our daughter’s birthday dinner party here on a frigid cold winter day when there were winter storm alerts. We had a large party so we wanted to make sure we could be seated on time. I called in a few hours in advance to give them a heads up for our party of 22 (Silver Diner does not take reservations). They told me there were enough tables to put together for our party at that time.
When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the diner host and hostess. There was also a nice and spacious waiting area, good enough for our group to wait for everyone to arrive. The waiting area had a flat screen where 50s music videos were playing - The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and The Supremes - which we all enjoyed. It was also decorated beautifully with a snowy Christmas tree.
The diner staff put multiple tables together to make two long tables for our party to be seated. We were still waiting for a few of our guests to arrive and they gave us plenty of time to wait and order when we were ready. Being a kids party, we had some simple birthday crafts and the diner also brought the kids coloring mats and crayons, which helped the kids stay seated while waiting.
Everything from the food to the customer service was exceptional. The diner staff was very accommodating. They kept our birthday cake in the refrigerator for us, brought it out with candles lit, and 7 diner staff came out and cheerfully sang “Happy Birthday” while bringing out the cake. The waitress who was in charge of our table even brought us dessert spoons for the cake and a cutting knife. She also went out of her way to help me while I was cutting and serving the cake. I think her name was Bethy (?) from what I could make out from her name tag. We couldn’t ask for more for our daughter’s special day.
Thank you, Silver Diner staff of Ashburn/ One Loudoun! You made our daughter’s special day so memorable. We won’t forget your warmth, smiles, and exceptional service on the evening of...

Huge difference, today everything was great, the service... excellent, thanks Andrew!! The food was delicious. Special thanks to Mr. Ali, he went from table to table greeting all the customers and was extremely kind to us. An abysmal difference between last week and this week. Congratulations!
Last week review:
We have had the pleasure of eating here several times. The first time the food and service were fine. The waiting time for the meal was a little late but acceptable.
The second time we went with our children, they didn't like the food so much, which is fine, we won't take them there to eat.
The third time I ordered takeout, all within normal.
Today, on my day off, we decided to eat there, we spent around 50 minutes of which most of the time was waiting for our food. I don't know exactly what happened if the kitchen was late or the person who was attending us forgot about it since she was doing other things at the bar area, it was definitely not a good combination, we had to pack the food to go.
The manager approached us and told us that it was only 20 minutes, I didn't want to discuss because we already wanted to leave, but as I told him, we like to come here, we like the food, but the waiting times are terrible and no, he didn't apologize, he just indicated that it was only 20 minutes of waiting... please listen to his clients and take their opinions into...
Read moreSilver Diner has been a favorite for decades! I've been really enjoying this new location closer to home. The treatment from out server, Marcos, was stellar. He has a great smile, wonderful attitude and even figured out hie to make my milkshake requests a reality without making me feel weird for asking. Our food was brought out quickly and hit served with a smile by a curly-haired young busser. I ordered my go-to Bison Huevos Rancheros. My friend orderd the Bay Benedict which was scrumptious. The combination of corn and spinach and crab seemed unlikely towork, but they all went perfectly together. The only reason I didn't give a five star for the food was because, I noticed something different about the sauce or the texture of my dish that I couldn't put my finger on. It's usually a knock out and I are it all, but I left pondering what was just a little off to me. So many of the ingredients are fresh and local and the imaginative offerings remain relatively affordable. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will be back again. I swooned over the guava mint spritzer. That and the no-jito are so delicious. I highly recommend visiting with a friend or alone. Either way, bring...
