Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Virginia

I hate writing this review because i dont want to sound insensitive but i must. Everytime i come here (and i come often, at least twice a week) they have workers working the drive thru that do not speak ANY english. Its so frustrating and uncomfortable for me as a paying customer trying to go back and forth with the employees and figure out a way to explain what i want in a way they can understand. Why would you hire someone to work drive thru that doesnt speak english. I went today (sept 7) around 530 pm. What i ordered was 2- #5s 5pc. The young man taking my order couldnt understand me and i could not understand him AT ALL. when i pulled up to the window. He brought me two drinks. He handed me one, and i asked him for a drink carrier because i didnt want the drinks to spill on the way home. He had no idea what i was asking him. Instead he took the second drink, dumped it out, and remade it with no ice. I did not ask him to do that! I asked him for a drink carrier! At this point i was so frustrated going back and forth with him over my order i just took the drinks and held them in my cup holders in the backseat. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING! I have nothing against immigrants or them obtaining employment. Everyone deserves a chance at work and a better life. But why is this establishment hiring all the non-english speaking workers and having them take peoples orders when they cant understand English nor speak it?! Ok. I've given them more chances than I should have. I have been to this location 4 times, this time tonight will be my last. 10:26pm i pull up, they have 1 person at the window and me in the drive thru. I wait at least several minutes before someone greets me. I've gotten the same thing i always get, #7 popcorn shrimp and 2 tenders, fries, large sweet tea. I asked if I could get it fresh I wouldn't mind waiting 10 minutes (I always do this and im not rude about it especially when it's not busy). They said they don't mind and told me to pull ahead. I wait the 10 minutes, no one behind me no one pulling in from what I could see. I finally got my food and I left, I was very eager to eat so I grabbed the box and right there I should have known because the box was not hot. At the light I tried a piece, not hot and it tasted like cardboard like it was overcooked but not recently made. Fries were not hot. I got ONE TENDER, and if they try and say that crumb in there was the 2nd piece I will fight someone. The tea tasted OLD, like maybe made around noon, old dirty tank taste sat on the back of my tongue. I tried to call and like before the phone was answered and was hung up, twice. I should have known better, everytime it's basically the same thing, I try the benefit of the doubt and hope it'll be better but they prove me wrong every time and I'm done wasting my money. Went to get the $6 big box special. This location didn’t know what this was, went to the drive thru and she didn’t understand what I was talking about. Had to go inside to order showing the advertisement I received through email. It included 2 pieces of chicken, 2 regular sides, biscuit. I asked for 2 of these specials and to add two pieces more by itself. Went to car and good thing I looked to see what I got and one of the $6 special was missing, went back inside and showed them. The manager said well we didn’t charge you for the 2nd special. So if I do the math two $6 boxes equals $12, 2 more pieces of chicken does not total $19 which I was charged the first time. Manager said I owe $6 more. Trying to explain $6 plus $6 is $12. Why do I have to pay more? Instead of arguing and explaining I paid $6 more. I ended up paying a total of $26 for two $6 boxes and 2 more pieces?! Every time I come to this location it’s a battle to get my order right. They don’t speak English and don’t understand anything.
