Starbucks — Restaurant in Virginia

I went into this location at 9:50 on July 18th, 2025. I walk to work(in the same shopping center), and today it was 92 degrees. I asked the manager Margaret for a water. She looked me up and down, and asked if I was going to buy something. I said no, but that I just needed water. She refused, so I left.

I googled the policy - which states that if you are not busy at a Starbucks location you may have the CHOICE of giving out water. With that information in hand, I proceeded to try and take pictures of the counter. So I could prove that it wasn't busy, but due to my anxiety I was not able to raise the phone high enough.

I left the location and Margaret the manager proceeded to follow me out of the store recording me with her phone.

When I told her I was on the phone with customer service, she made an immediate u-turn and ran back into the store.

I've included the pictures I took, so you can see the angle of my phone. In no way shape or form did I video her or try to get any pics of her. Yet she took it upon herself to not only follow and harass me but to try and embarrass a person as well.

If you want to buy your coffee here, do it. But if you're looking to be treated with respect decency or anything in between - just make your coffee at home. And God forbid you...

04/18/23: Figured I'd give them one more shot. Don't even bother! I waited close to 15 min for my solitary frapp and only one customer was there and had already been served. The barista was only filling online orders so if you are a walk-in and order u have no way of knowing how many orders they're filling ahead of yours but by then you have already paid for an over-priced drink and tipped and ur just waiting and waiting. NOPE. I'll get my fix at Wawas where their drinks are reasonably priced and ur not waiting forever. Note: Even a couple customers who came in after me who had not been waiting as long expressed their frustration so do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. It was sitting on a counter by the sink. Had I not asked about it God knows when I would have gotten it. Over-priced coffee and horrible service. How did SB's get so famous? Hey people this is a fine Starbucks outlet. I am there every morning of the week and they know me and know my drink(s) and they are just great. I find that the crew is very steady and I frequently see the same faces that I have known for a long time now. I would be saddened if any of them left. The bathrooms are always clean. The staff is always friendly. The place is rather small given the crowd that descends on this place. So a bigger store might be the right thing for this location but the fact that it is always packed in the morning at coffee time tells you something … the People like this place and the very nice staff that make it run along...
