DO NOT let what you see on the outside sway your decision to eat here. Yes, it's attached to a gas station, and yes, it's just a concrete cinderblock building, but when I tell you that I ate absolutely the best, and I do mean THE BEST (and AUTHENTIC) Mexican food I have ever ate (and that even includes the food I ate while vacationing in Mexico several years ago), I'm not lying or just saying that. My family goes to our local Mexican place so often that the waiters there know us and our usual orders by memory. We love Mexican food. My son and I had travelled to Winchester for an appointment, and decided to stop at Taqueria Los 7 Hermanos for an early dinner before heading back home a few hours away. At first, when we pulled in, yes, we were a bit hesitant, but thank goodness we decided to go on inside. The inside was bright and colorful, the tablecloths were embroidered with beautiful Talavera-like designs (I happen to love Mexican pottery). We both ordered the Al Pastor tacos (3 each) and some guacamole and chips, my son got a Jarito and I got the Mango Agua Fresca, and after finishing those we got another Jarito (Guava - which we hadn't seen before) and a Pineapple Cucumber Agua Fresca. The chips and guac came out shortly and you could tell this was not your standard store bought, jarred guac, this was hand made and absolutely the freshest guac you could possibly get; the chips nicely salted and warm. Next, our tacos came out ... hand pressed tortillas, juicy marinated pork, some cilantro, a little bit of red onion... along with a little bit of salsa verde and salsa roja on the side .... wow, we kept commenting the whole time we ate about how delicious all of it was and it didn't stop there, we talked about how fantastic the food was all the way home.
So seriously, if you're in the Winchester area... go and get all of the tacos.... support this little business!!! I seriously wish I lived closer so my family could go to this amazing eatery...
Read moreI went here looking for great tacos, and the food was okay. Food was not bad but the prices were high (at least for me) for a taco with a very small tortilla. As soon as you walk in the smell of the food is good but the place needs more maintenance and cleaning. One thing I did not like was the service, long story short basic taco items the (must have) lemon, salsa, guacamole, and other items were missing. If you ask for them they would trow an extra price and if it was free they made sure they brought you exactly the right amount: example lemons (if you asked for a lemon they would literally only bring you one cut half) it almost seem they wanted to make sure nothing was wasted- which I understand but it make me feel like everything was accounted for regardless if you are willing to pay.
They often looked at me and told me âyea we have that but it cost this muchâ I personally didnât like that. I understood nothing was free but they made it seem as (hey you have money? Let me ask you before I make an effort to bring you something you can afford). Overall food is okay, need to work on their customer...
Read moreMy dad and I stopped here during a roadtrip. We went into the place skeptical about what Mexican food connected to a gas station might do to our digestive systems, but took our chances due to the high reviews. He and I are both SUPER glad we stopped here because the food was great! You know itâs good when your dad closes his eyes, does an agressive âMMMM,â and tells the guy at the register how good their food is haha. There arenât many tables inside, but we didnât have a problem with a wait or it being crowded especially during a time Iâd assume would be the lunch rush. The service was also quick and sweet! For example, there werenât any vegetarian options on the menu, but when I asked to get something with no meat due to my dietary restriction, our server was quick to suggest other options they had like beans, egg, or potatoes. We are continuing our drive and my dad actually had to pause the music just to say âThat taco I had was AMAZING,â (We ate three hours ago lol). I donât think Iâve ever even left a review, so I think itâs fitting that a restaurant that left such an impact on us gets the honor of my...
