I recently had the pleasure of dining at Texas de Brazil for the first time in Short Pump, Va. We had a group of nine, celebrating a friend’s birthday. This Brazilian steakhouse completely exceeded my expectations. It's no wonder this establishment is renowned for its endless selection of succulent steaks, chops, lamb, and other mouthwatering cuts of meat. From start to finish, my dining experience was an absolute delight. I love how the servers bring these large racks of beautiful meat to your table and carve in front of you to your heart’s desire.
One of the highlights of my meal was the beef short ribs. These tender and juicy ribs were bursting with flavor, leaving me yearning for more with each bite. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the flavors were incredibly well-balanced. It was undoubtedly a standout dish that left a lasting impression.
Speaking of steaks, I must commend Texas de Brazil for their mastery in preparing them. Every steak, from the skirt steak to the filet mignon, was cooked to perfection. Each cut was beautifully seasoned, seared to a delectable crust, and served with precision. The quality and taste of the meat were exceptional, and the fact that they kept coming ensured that I could savor a variety of cuts throughout the meal.
Another dish that won me over was the stuffed chicken. The chicken breast was tender and moist, and the flavorful stuffing added a delightful twist to the dish. It was a perfect balance of textures and flavors, leaving me thoroughly impressed. I also enjoy the pork ribs and lamb.
Accompanying my main courses, the side of delicious mashed potatoes added a comforting touch to the meal. Creamy, smooth, and perfectly seasoned, they were the ideal complement to the rich flavors of the meats. And let's not forget the addictive cheese rolls, which were downright irresistible. They were warm, cheesy, and utterly enticing, making them a delightful addition to the meal.
The salad bar at Texas de Brazil offers a plethora of options to satisfy every palate. The array of fresh, vibrant vegetables, cheeses, and dressings was truly impressive. It was a feast of colors and flavors, providing a wonderful opportunity to stimulate the taste buds before diving into the main course.
Beyond the exceptional cuisine, the atmosphere of Texas de Brazil was lively and vibrant. It's a great place for various occasions, whether it's a girls' night out, date night, or a family gathering. The well-appointed dining area was clean and comfortable, creating a pleasant ambiance for an enjoyable dining experience. The wait staff deserves special mention for their warm welcome, kindness, and accommodation throughout the evening. Their attentive and friendly service further enhanced the overall experience.
In conclusion, Texas de Brazil is a Brazilian steakhouse that truly delivers an exquisite dining experience. The beef short ribs were juicy and flavorful, the steaks were perfectly prepared and abundant, and the stuffed chicken, lamb and ribs were simply amazing. The delectable mashed potatoes, addictive cheese rolls, and diverse salad bar added depth and variety to the meal. The lively atmosphere, along with the clean and well-appointed dining area, made it an ideal choice for various occasions. The welcoming and accommodating wait staff ensured a memorable and enjoyable evening. I highly recommend Texas de Brazil to anyone seeking a remarkable Brazilian steakhouse experience. #texasdebrazil #braziliansteakhouse #endlesssteak #steak #diningout #foodie #dmveats #virginiarestaurants #richmondva #richmondrestaurants #luefrasreviews #atthetablewithluefras...
Read moreI’m not one to usually write reviews, but in this case it’s necessary. We walked into the restaurant with a reservation. We gave the hostess our name. She typed it into her system and simply said, “okay” & nothing else, almost aggravated by us being there. I asked her if our table was ready or should we have a seat. She said very rudely, “step over there. They’ll tell you when they’re ready.” Okay, not the greatest first impression. We were finally led to our table. We were in a side room. There were two couples sitting at two other tables right next to each other, in a large room full of other empty tables. Our server wanted to sit us right next to the two other tables. We politely asked if we could move one table down. He acted really nervous and said, “I can’t just move you. I have to go run it by management.” We went ahead and sat one table down. He said, “don’t get too comfortable until I find out if it’s okay.” Several minutes later he came back and said that “management would allow the move.”
We then proceeded to order two of their popular caipirinha drinks. We had been there previously, so we knew they came in a regular or tall option. We ordered the tall option. After a while the server came back with 2 regular sized drinks and said, “the bartender won’t make the tall ones, but I will give you the regular size ones at the $5 happy hour price since it’s still happy hour.”
We then proceeded to eat. After a couple trips to the salad bar, there were lots of empty bowls & plates on our small 2 top table. The server was a couple tables over talking & laughing at length, completely ignoring that our dishes needed to be cleared & our drinks were empty. When he finally came over he apologized saying that they were extremely busy. They weren’t. He literally had us and two other 2 top tables. He then went to walk away & I had to ask him to take the dirty dishes. He said he would when he came back. We ordered two more drinks and finished our dinner.
The bill came & we paid it, also leaving a nice tip, not because the service was good, but we believe in tipping well. Once he walked away, we both thought the bill seemed high. We realized that instead of charging us the happy hour price of $5 for our drinks, he charged us the full price of the tall drinks, $12.50, so instead of $20, he charged us $50. Mind you, we also tipped (very well) on the incorrect amount. He came back and we explained what happened. He told us that there wasn’t a manager available & it could be a long wait for us so we could go knowing it will be corrected in a couple of days. 5 days later it wasn’t corrected. I called and spoke to Jeff, a manger there. He was very polite & apologetic. He said this will be handled. A few days later a female manager called and said it was being handled and to give it 7-10 days. I finally received a $30 refund on my credit card over a week after we dined there. All in all it was not a good experience there and I don’t think we will return. On another note, as we were leaving, the hostess, who looked incredibly irritated to be there, just stared at us. I said, “thank you” and she responded with a very gruff, “you’re welcome.” It just wasn’t good customer service from the hostess, to the waiter, to the lack of management that evening, especially for an...
Read moreThe atmosphere was really nice here. We were seated right next to where the meats were being prepared. Our waiter was super attentive, we didn't get the opportunity to need anything he was on it. He anticipated our needs very well. The servers, excellent. The meat was coming around so fast. It was my son's 10th birthday that was the occasion for our visit. It was his first time coming to this type of restaurant and he just kept saying yes yes yes he was like mom help me I can't keep up 😆😂🤣 he loves meat and he loves it as it was prepared medium rare(like his momma). My eldest however is like burn it cook it all the way, very well done they were able to accommodate his tastes as well. They did mention it would take a bit longer to come around, however it didn't seem like it. The meat was coming around rather regularly. The Salad bar was great however they do provide sides with your meal(Bread,Mashed potatoes, platanosy French fried), you don't really need to go to the salad bar at all. But should you go they have a nice selection of pickled items peppers, capers, olives, cheeses and other salad items. There is also a hot section with rice, soup, mushrooms fish and potatoes au gratin (soooo yummy) The bread oh man. Soooooo good I'm telling you do not have anything to eat before going here. They wrote happy birthday on his dessert and lit a birthday candle he felt really special. We had a great dinner experience and for that I am happy. Everyone is so friendly. Even down to the Manager was making sure everyone was happy and contented and when we left they wished us a good evening and invited us to join them again soon. Hospitality is a lost art these days. But I am big on hospitality, I could dine anywhere but I'm choosing to patronize here . This place really redeemed my faith in the lost art. It was warm and inviting, comfortable, delicious and wasn't very expensive at all for what we had in my opinion. If you are wondering if you should visit this place, please do. Don't eat for the whole day before you go. But do go, bring loved ones, laugh together enjoy the atmosphere, enjoy the tasty delights and have a good time. When you are finished, enjoy the fire place outside of the restaurant and talk or walk off some of the food in the outdoor mall. If you have room after your meal and you have a hankering for a sweet treat their caramel cheesecake is divine my goodness. You will have zero regrets I promise....
