If you don’t read the following… the service was great, the food was okay, and reasonably priced for two. 40$ for the multiple things shown in pics below. Keep in mind, we’re vegetarians and all of what I say will pertain to my experience. Service= AMAZING! Shawn was so sweet and we loved that he related to us throughout our entire meal. He was extremely genuine and thoughtful, and the food came fast and *correct*. As a vegetarian, going to Mexican restaurants and finding things to eat is hard. It’s even harder when you’re picky. With all the changes we requested to food on the menu, it’s sometimes hard for people to get it right! He got everything 100% correct and went above and beyond to give us the best service. Food= decent.. The nachos shown in the picture were okay. We liked the pico de gallo and the beans, but the nachos themselves were heavily salted and the “cheese” on top was somewhat similar to that of a cheese whiz. The cheese quesadilla was simple and fine. The Mexican street corn was nothing special and coated in some sort of cheese (think cojita) and smelled like B.O. We got veggie fajitas which were the highlight! Atmosphere= beautiful. Clean bathrooms. Kind staff. Price was reasonable. They had plenty of vegetarian options, and you can make anything not vegetarian. Only problem was the overall quality and seasoning of the food. It was bland. It looked better than it tasted. More for meat eaters, obviously.

Casa Del Barco was recommended to me as a place to go to enjoy some Mexican cuisine. It was excellent. Our server was Terrance. He was fantastic! I asked what he would recommend concerning an item from the menu. Terrance was able to provide me with a detailed recommendation without even glancing at the menu. We already knew what we wanted to eat for our main course, so Terrance took our entire order, entered the information, and returned with our chips, salsa, and beverages. Terrance was friendly, funny, knew every aspect of his job, and completed everything in a very timely manner. The food was so good! We shared chips and salsa while we waited for our main course, and I enjoyed a frozen margarita. The manager came to the table to ask how we were enjoying everything. Compliments were paid to Terrance as well as to the chef. I do recommend the chicken fajitas. The portion size was very generous, the flavor was so good, and the veggies were cooked just right. Nothing was dry. Nothing was soaked in oil. Everything was perfect! Terrance truly made my visit to Casa Del Barco. He is knowledgeable and funny, provides service with a smile, and in a timely manner. I definitely recommend Casa Del Barco and ask for Terrance!

What a beautiful restaurant! As soon as I walked in I took out my phone and began taking pictures. The wait was 20 minutes which wasn't bad for a Saturday night. Our waiters name was Matt and he was very nice. When we sat down and looked at the menu, I was very surprised that there were only a few options. We were hungry and looking for a hearty entree but we had the choice of tacos, burritos and nachos. I ordered the shrimp nachos. There were only 4 shrimp and the rest were chips and veggies. My daughter ordered nachos with chorizo. I tasted it and agreed with my daughter that it was way too spicy to enjoy. She was unable to eat it. My other daughter had 3 tacos and she said that they were supposed to be crispy but they weren't. The drinks were strong with alcohol but not that great. Disappointed that it didn't turn out the way we hoped. If your looking for Appetizers or a light meal I would suggest this place if your in the area. But I won't travel 45 minutes again to visit this spot.

My recent visit to Casa del Barco was elevated to perfection, all thanks to our server, Anjali. From the moment we were seated, her warm smile and impeccable professionalism set the tone for the evening.

Knowledge and Recommendations: Anjali's knowledge of the menu was exceptional. She provided insightful recommendations, suggesting the chef's specialties and even customized a vegetarian option for our group. Her familiarity with the wine list ensured the perfect pairing with our meal. Throughout our meal, Anjali displayed an uncanny ability to anticipate our needs. Our glasses were never empty, and our plates were cleared promptly without disrupting the conversation. She paid attention to the smallest details without intruding on our dining experience.

What truly made Anjali stand out was her engaging and friendly personality. She made us feel like old friends, taking time to chat without making us feel rushed. Her genuine interest in our experience was evident, and she radiated enthusiasm for her job.

Service was flawlessly timed. Our courses arrived promptly, allowing us to savor each dish while maintaining a relaxed pace. Anjali's ability to synchronize the kitchen's efforts with our dining needs was remarkable.

Anjali went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. She addressed a minor issue with one of the dishes promptly and gracefully, ensuring we left with smiles on our faces. Her passion for making customers happy was evident. In summary, Anjali at Casa del Barco exemplifies what an exceptional server should be. Her knowledge, attentiveness, warm personality, and dedication to customer satisfaction made our dining experience truly memorable. If you visit this restaurant, I highly recommend requesting Anjali as your server for an...

I wasn't going to post anything about our dinner last Wednesday, but I got an email asking me to write a review, so I decided to share a quick note: The service was very good, and the atmosphere is great. It's a very nice, vibrant spot, and the fact that it's in Short Pump Town Center is even better. Great place to walk around following dinner. However, it was all sort of tainted by the food and the price. We had two adults and three children. We did not drink, and the kids got food off the kids' menu. One of them, who has autism and is very picky, only got French fries. You have to pay for the chips that are brought to the table, so we decided to get cheese dip too, since we're already paying for the chips. And they were no better than the free chips you get at every other Mexican restaurant. My partner got a burrito, I got chicken fajitas. When the children's food came out, it was pretty spicy, and my daughters couldn't eat it. If your kids don't like spicy food, this is not the place for them. I ended up giving them most of my fajitas. But, I share all this because the cost, including a 20% tip was $118. Three sprites, two waters, chips, a burrito, chicken fajitas, French fries, 1 kids quesadilla, 1 kids tacos. That's it. This would have cost $60 at Mexico Restaurant. I checked. So, the atmosphere was great, our server was very helpful and checked in constantly. But the cost - I just couldn't get over it. And the food was not good enough to warrant the price. We opted to skip dessert elsewhere because of what we just spent. If you've got the money, you'll enjoy yourself. I walked away with a bad taste in my mouth, and it wasn't because...

My husband and I went there for lunch. We were in town for a wedding. It wasn’t busy when we got seated. Our waiter was servicing tables inside and out so although it wasn’t packed he wasn’t available much. He was all over the place leaving us with an appetizer waiting for 30 minutes until we seen him again. We also had to ask other servers to tell him things several times. The food was ok we just tried to pay and leave. He kept telling us he was having trouble taking our payment like our ticket was paid. He left and came back and told us he tried to cash us out on the wrong ticket. He assured us it didn’t go through and we paid our ticket tipped him and left. Something told me to check our account and there it was 2 payments. So we turned around and went back. The manager Joe was absolutely no help at all. He was very condescending and nonchalant. I told him about the service and he told me he just wanted to know about the charges. I said well I figured a manager would care about what kind of service we had received….he obviously didn’t. Our meal was $50 and the extra one was $80. He told me there was nothing he could do that we would get our money back in a few days for the $80 charge. No real apology or anything. DISGUSTING behavior. The server was zoned out and all over the place. BUT with management like Joe it is VERY understandable. DO NOT GO HERE. UNLESS YOU WANT MONEY STOLEN FROM YOU, HORRIBLE SERVICE...
