4.5 ⭐️ Very Good! I went with 2 friends for one last brunch before the new year. And we were all pleasantly surprised by this place! They offer breakfast all day, but their lunch menu is awesome as well. I went with the lunch menu. I got a 2nd Breakfast Burger, and a Snickers Latte. Both were very good! The latte I had to keep mixing cause of the chocolate syrup at the bottom, but I expected a Snickers Latte to be on the sweet side. The 2nd breakfast burger was so good! I feel like I could add avocado/Guac to this and it would be perfect. One friend got a Cinnamon Roll, the Cheddar & Onion Smashed Burger w/Chipotle Mayo, and a Cappuccino. She enjoyed everything and said it was all really good. My other friend got a Honey Do Latte with an extra shot, and a CNU Patty Melt. She also said her coffee and melt was very good. We were all really surprised at how good everything was, and all the staff were super nice. They even give punch cards for coffees and burgers. We previously gave it a 4 star because it had just opened and wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. Today was our fourth time. Both our $4 lattes were not even warm. My blueberry muffin was raw in the middle and just barely thawed. (Frozen?) But it gets worse: yesterday the strawberry topping on the waffles (nowhere near Belgian style) seemed off when I ate them. I ended up running to the bathroom when we got home and stayed there for a long time. Why not give it a 1 star? They are new and working out the Disastrous kinks. Suggest they throw out the strawberries for the waffles before the health department shuts them down. Learn what items are on the menus (1st day ordered a latte that was on the menus and they gave me the deer in the headlights stare before they asked what is in it). There are two things that a cafe needs to stand out: A design aesthetic that captures its personality of what it wants to convey and fast service for food & drinks.

The Captain’s Den meets both perfectly. I got the Waffle Breakfast Sandwich, one of the many unique sandwich choices they offer on their breakfast menu. It was a great amount of food for $10+ dollars around here — at least based on my experience.

I recommend the cafe and the waffle sandwich. If you are craving something more like a lunch or dinner meal, there is another menu that offers a bunch of choices that fit those needs.
