Must be new management, because this place has gone way down hill!!! Service was very bad!!! The portion sizes were a rip off! Someone is going for record food costs or inflation hit these guys hard!!! Our server gave us half our order, (A caramel macchiato and a flight!) We got the "flight" and all three were swigs.. a shot of espresso would have had more liquid than was in the $17 flight. Three swigs and ten minutes later no caramel macchiato. The server walks up and asks how was everything... small, not existent! We did not want to deal with this place anymore and said forget the caramel macchiato, we just want the check. She said oh what was your order again? We said we just want the check forget the espresso. She comes back with our check with some random coffee drink on it and said oh they lost your ticket. We waited 5 minutes, still no espresso and than steped up to the register. We were then asked if we were being served...no! We said we just want to take this coffee off the check and pay. She still charged us for the random coffee, which no one was even making until we asked for the coffee we were charged for to go. They made something....Which I threw away! That was over priced "expresso"! McDonald's coffee tastes much better than what ever we were served in that cup! Certainly not a caramel macchiato! This place used to be packed with customers, on a Saturday night, but this management has chased them all away! Most times when there is a management change that causes us to have bad service, we give a place six months before we try it again! However, the service, the quality, the quantity and very poor management has us thinking this place is on our do not go list! Our service and experience was very, very disappointing! After all this... our server still wanted a tip..TIP... Do not cheat customers, treat them respectful and learn your job. I regret, that I did not take a picture of the serving size to attach to this review... lesson learned! Trummer's owner's needs to check in on this place! Send a secret shopper or two, before the...
Read moreSo I found myself in need of a coffee while visiting the Gateway one day and someone recommended this place. I ordered a cappuccino to go, waited 20 minutes to get it and exited the store happy I'll have my caffeine fix. Just till the first sip, till I got a terrible, huge amount of cinnamon in my mouth, and my mood turned. I went back and asked if they just add it to each cappuccino, they said yes. I told them it would be better to ask, but anyway, they did make a new one for me - another 20 minute wait. While waiting, I saw a good looking "schnitzel" being served so I decided to grab my German husband and come back a couple of days later. Me being from Europe as well, I thought we might be onto a good find here. I couldn't be more wrong. We went back a couple of days later to try their "Wienerschnitzel" and spatzle since they claim some Austrian ties. After 30 minutes of wait (empty place btw) the waitress came back and said she was just informed they don't have "spatzle" that day. Really, you were just informed??? It must have been another 20 minutes when the "Wienerschnitzel" plates arrived. I usually don't rate food that low, but it was an insult to "Wienerschnitzel", a sad joke, and a complete waste of money, time and a nice evening. The paper thin, dry piece of chicken covered in some floury substance disattached from the meat, definitely not "panko breaded", not breaded at all actually - it seemed like it was dunked in some gooey substance and deep fried. I could teach them how to make an actual schnitzel using the correct breading technique. I snatched a picture of how it looked inside. We graded their schnitzel with a big "F". This shouldn't be allowed to be called "Wienerschnitzel". I can only imagine how equally generic their spatzle is. Unfortunately one and done for this one. They really shouldn't try to be what they have no clue about. They should stick to coffee and pastries, since I saw good reviews about that, just ask before putting cinnamon on cappuccinos - it's just...
Read moreIâve been frequenting Trummerâs for a very, very long time, as itâs been a favorite of my familyâs. However, my last two visits were pretty terrible, in both quality of food and service. Things have changed at trummerâs for the worse. Weâve been getting the caprese panini for years, as it is our all time favorite sandwich. The past two times weâve gotten it, something has definitely changed. The panini is lacking flavor all of a sudden and only has two tiny slices of tomato in it. The panini also seems to be lacking some sort of salt- maybe theyâre putting less pesto or theyâve changed the brand of mozzarella they use.. who knows. After my last two visits, my family and I can definitely confirm that it doesnât taste the way itâs supposed to anymore.
I asked the server to bring me an extra slice of tomato and he charged me for a whole new panini. And we had to pay for that.
There was some random gummy substance in my coffee and the server dismissed it as milk foam. Milk foam?! Maybe it could be milk fat, but in my experience, milk fat doesnât gum up like that. I think some cheese from the truffle fries fell into my coffee when they were serving our food. Either way, server did not offer to have it remade.
The service has also been going downhill compared to the service over the past few years. It takes forever to get someone to take your order, and even then, your order might be wrong. We asked for a full order of truffle fries, but were brought the smaller one, and when we expressed this, we were charged for two small orders instead of one large order of truffle fries.
Trummerâs isnât what it used to be and it is sadly no longer our favorite date/brunch spot.
Trummerâs, if you see this, please work on getting the caprese panini back to its former glory and also work on your customer service!! Iâd love to frequent your establishment once again, but right now I canât justify that with the current...
