I am used to going to art/craft stores like Michaels, AC Moore, and JoANN fabrics.

Michaels I have never really been a fan of based on the fact that their selection is sub par and the employees never seem to know the difference between a paint brush and a sharpie.

AC Moore I love but I recently moved and they are no longer near me.

JoAnns went out of business near me a few years ago.

I had heard bad things in the news about Hobby Lobby from a few years ago, but I figured heck...why not.

Initial reaction walking in the door: "Holy S*!"

It's like every single craft store, art store, fabric store, and Walmart all exploded into one GIANT store.

I wandered the isles for at least 2 hours. There are so many different sections with different things. Everything from furniture to art supplies, to seasonal decorations, to cake decorating, to almost like a home depot hardware section for decorative home goods.

It was crazy. Good prices as well. A smidge higher than Walmart or Michaels, but you can't beat the much larger selection.

The only downside I notice is there isn't much for checkout isles. Maybe 4 lanes total? And it's usually only 2 people at the registers...even on weekends so the lines are almost always long.

But other than that it's my new go to store for...

I really like Hobby Lobby and frequently visit this store to get items for me and for others. I gave this "visit" 2 stars because I went there this past weekend to get a photo framed and was met with an employee that was simply rude. When I arrived I went back to the frame dept, there was no one there. I then caught a glimpse of a woman in the back room. I asked her if she worked in the frame dept and she advised me, "why else would I be back here if I didn't work here?". Now mind you, she did not have on a Hobby Lobby name tag or a Hobby Lobby vest, so I had no clue who she was or if she was even a Hobby Lobby employee. I did speak with the Manager and he was very nice and apologetic - prayerfully he spoke with his employee and the next customer that comes to the frame dept does not have to endure a bad situation. I will continue to visit Hobby Lobby but will utilize different services for framing...
