I have been coming here for 2 years and have recommended family and friends this cute open concept restaurant. Their menu is what stood out to me at first because they have a very unique palette in their food choice as well as their pastries. I really enjoyed this place where I could take my kids and family until this year where I experienced very poor customer service with the front desk person. I had brought my young son to grab some lunch with me. We had just bought an açaí bowl from another vendor nearby and while I stood in line to order our food at Urbana my son wanted to eat some of his açaí bowl while he waited. The front desk person came to me and told me he was not allowed to eat his açaí bowl inside the restaurant and would need to put it away. I told her that he was just getting some bites on it while I was waiting in line. But she didn’t want to hear what I had to say and insisted that I have him put it away before I placed an order because this is was a full service restaurant and other foods are not allowed. I was very confused at her approach and the way she handled the situation. It is not a full service restaurant if you have to wait in line to order your food but at this point there was no point to argue. I told her I was disappointed that for a few bites that my son wanted to have with his açaí bowl we would not get served. I am giving this place 3 stars because the way the employee handled the situation was very poorly. This employee treated us as if I brought a full 5 course meal to their place and would not take my order unless the açaí bowl was put away. I have not gone back. I hope they understand that customer...
Read moreHello and thank you Urban for a dinner night out!
I was very interested in this place based on the reviews- and for the most part our experience was ok. We did not make a reservation, and dined in, but the atmosphere was a little weird when we arrived. The owner seemed to be personally hosting several tables, and we felt like we were intruding on an event. We asked the waiter if there was an event ongoing, but he specified there wasn’t- so maybe it was just an off night🤷🏼♀️. Grateful to have been seated without a reservation and was able to try the place on a Friday night!
We ordered the Caesar, garlic bread and two pasta dishes, and they seemed to be inundated in cheese. But otherwise they tasted alright- and our waiter was very nice and friendly.
The main dishes/pasta are priced around $20-$25 base- and around $5-$9 to add a protein, but it was a little confusing because the wait staff asked if we wanted to add protein- even for dishes that already had a protein- making us think none of the dishes came with protein. My partner ended up getting a dish with both Beef and sausage due to the confusion- and it was a bit too much.
Please continue to support this local business! While we may not return as there are other local Italian places in the area we prefer with a better ambiance and food quality, please give this...
Read moreWell that didn't go well. I came to enjoy the new restaurant and experience the ambiance of the holiday lights. I reviewed the menu posted outside while reviewing it with my wife on the phone, via video chat. A guess warmly greeted me. So much so I asked if she was the owner. She explained she wasn't and told me Trish was inside. I went inside and started observing the display of, I believe, cake pops and other items. Trish the owner approached and asked if I needed anything. However, the delivery seemed condescending. I paid it no attention. I went to the other display to show my wife the other items as well. Trish asked me not to video while in the store. I was shocked at that request, seeing I was promoting her establishment at the time. I'm a neighbor of this community. But somehow right than there I didn't feel like it. Since I'm a coffee addict, I simply continued with the the process and ordered my double espresso and walked out attempting to clear my mind under the christmas lights of what just occurred. I'll be watching to make sure this review isn't removed. I frequently enjoy Cascades Overlook, since it's been established. Unfortunately, this is a tough one to swallow. Not the coffee. 2020 Merry...
