This was our first time eating at the restaurant. We stumbled upon it as we were driving back home. We started to stop based on the positive reviews. When we first pulled in we were a little skeptical. From the outside it looked like just a local pizza shop. We were looking for an Italian restaurant. However once we went inside there were plenty of tables and a nice dining area. We ordered the pot of gold appetizer, lasagna and belly buster. All were excellent. The homemade meat sauce was incredible. The product old appetizer was a nice surprise with a variety of fried foods including homemade Potato Chips, mozzarella sticks, jalapeño ravioli and another stuffed item, not sure exactly what it was, maybe a broccoli filling. Lasagne was delicious- tons of delicious cheese, the hamburger was from a chuck roast, according to the menu, not greasy and had really good flavor. It was seasoned well and the sauce was amazing. Missing ricotta cheese or not enough of it to taste. The belly buster( stromboli) was the best out of all of our choices very filling and flavorful with meats and veggies. Would have given the place a 5 star review, But the outside needs some spucing up to let people know It's more of an Italian restaurant, versus just a pizza place. We went back the next day as we traveled back through. Ordered the chicken parm sub, baked spaghetti (needed ricotta or cottage cheese and veggies layered in it to be the actual recipe we typically order elsewhere. The sauce made this dish, just spaghetti and meat sauce with cheese melted on top. Also ordered another belly buster! Yum! Good service! Great prices! Meals come with garlic toast and have option to add a salad for a small extra charge. We'll definitely return if we're in...
Read moreI hate to do 2 stars, but the last 3x we've been in it's not been good experience. And use to be a great place! The staff is super nice, but for 430 in the afternoon on a Sat. Several tables, one server with a whole staff hanging in the front & kitchen, took 15mins for someone to come get our drinks, kept waiting for refills, I thought they use to bring bread and oil out, haven't seen that the last few times. I got fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and chicken last few times, and I have to say it's super oily, more butter than sauce, and the chicken is super rubbery and not very good. It's been that way last few times.
We noticed a family ordered couple pizzas, they left a whole pizza behind, either not very good or not sure the reason. Took someone almost an hour to bus the table. Like I said a lot of staff just hanging in the front. My husband really didn't want to go back bc he didn't like his food the last 2x, and it was the same 3rd experience and now he has sworn off completely, along with me now having to be wrong about him trying it again lol.
Not trying to down the business, but they really need to change some things. The food, the way they help each other, and not one staff member tending the whole restaurant, I've worked in restaurants, and it was like the ones that you see on kitchen nightmare shows that need help. Again, the waitress was super kind, not her fault, but they left her to deal with the whole place by herself. Not sure if we will be back. Too costly for not good food or fast...
Read moreMy husband and I love the food. We have been going to Grioli's for years. This review concerns the staff. We had a lovely meal on May 31st, returned to our car, and it didn't start. I returned inside and asked if anyone could give me a number for a tow service. Every staff member went into emergency mode. Our waitress, Stephanie C., got her car and battery cables, the manager came out and helped hook up to jump our battery. Unfortunately, it still wouldn't start. They did not stop there. Since it was hot and I am not well, Stephanie insisted she would take me home while my husband waited for a tow truck. I wanted to pay her, but she said absolutely not and wouldn't take the money. She dropped me off at my front door and waited until I got in safely. I thanked her , and she said it was no problem and to pass it on. The other staff were back at the restaurant helping my husband find a great garage close by, and we are picking up our car today (one day later) checked and fixed with a new battery and new cable. I have never been so impressed with people in my life. They looked to be the age of our children but went overboard to help us. There is hope for our future, everyone. I want to thank the owner of Grioli''s for hiring such helpful, warm and caring staff. I don't know how they have learned to be so helpful, but it was an amazing experience. Thank you, staff, for your help! We are so grateful. Five stars!! Sincerely, Gail and John...
