Dimples Diner was a very pleasant surprise. This is a great spot for a throw back diner from the 50's. The food portions are huge and packed with great flavor. The two ladies serving were extremely hospitable and great at being servers. When I arrived the diner was packed inside as well as the lobby of people waiting to get a table. The cook was pushing the orders out one after another. The servers were just as fast bringing the plates full of food to the tables. It's been awhile since I've witnessed such speedy flawless service. I ordered The Chicken Fried Steak which was perfectly cooked. It had a nice crust on the outside while keeping all the steak juices sealed inside. If you love hash browns, this is the spot for you. Hash browns seemed to be on just about every single plate I saw. The top layer of hash browns are nice and crispy while the middle layer is soft and flavorful. My eggs over easy were cooked to perfection. My son's pancakes were fluffy on the inside with a slightly crisp exterior. Lastly is their biscuits and gravy. This was the only thing that didn’t blow my socks off. You won’t be totally disappointed if you order them. They simply just did not match up to everything else I tried. This really is a cool old-school diner. I love the seats all around the counter and the big oversize coach like seats at the tables. I highly recommend making time to have an all around great experience at...
Read moreI’ve heard great things about this place, but I can’t say I had a good experience. I understood that the wait for a seat would be a while (30 minutes) but when they started calling people that had arrived after us, I started getting frustrated. It turns out they skipped our name. Fine, things happen. About 45-50 minutes after we initially arrived, we finally get seated at the same time as two other parties. We knew what we wanted and ordered first, but our order was not given to the cooks until after everyone else’s which made no sense. We should have been seated a while ago, so to then have our order actually put in after the other parties was really upsetting. My husband and I both ordered the ultimate breakfast sandwich which is under a section that says “served with hash browns, breakfast fries, country potatoes, or fruit and toast, biscuits and gravy or pancakes”. This reads two sides but when we asked about it apparently the bread of the sandwich counts as a side? This is the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard. The waitress we had was very nice and understanding as she was apparently new and also didn’t understand how this makes sense. On top of this, the sandwich just tasted like oil. Everything on it was so greasy that oil is all you taste. This was the absolute worst breakfast experience I’ve had at any diner in visalia and I will...
Read moreHad a great breakfast at “Dimples Diner” while waiting on my truck at the Ford Dealer/Service for the “Auto Butler” service re-coating and protecting the paint on my 2020 Ford Ranger. Forgot to take a picture of my breakfast, oops! The steak and eggs were excellent, no fat / no gristle on the steak. Doing my word searches while waiting. The coffee here is excellent, always fresh! But now I’m full from coffee, 2 hours worth and two coffee pots later, worth it! Really loved the 50's and 60's Rock & Roll Music, Elvis, Platters, Coasters, etc. My Korean War Army Veteran dad would've never left the restaurant just from the music alone that he adored so much, lol, God rest his soul! He LOVED his 50's!
To the unknown person that sat across from me that paid for my breakfast according to the waitress…..a big THANK YOU SIR! I would’ve been honored to shake your hand in gratitude because that’s what America is all about! It’s great to know Patriotism is not dead!!!! A rarity……”unfortunately”! Old-timey, old fashioned Army Veteran here with an "All-American"...
