Have you tried 508 Tavern in Vista? It’s a locally owned and operated spot that serves beer and tasty food! #vistacalifornia #508tavern

My friends would rave about 508 Tavern and it's long been on my list to try out. The main reason we didn't try earlier is because they don't have A/C and it was a bit on the smaller side. If you don't find a seat inside, you're relegated to sit on the patio which I think used to be their parking lot. Parking is on the street, so you may have to walk a bit. Being November, we opted to try Taco Tuesday. Most of the tacos are around the $2-3 mark and the reviews were all positive. We came and ordered all the tacos, each of us got three different one. We also got some beer, wine and a milk shake. The tacos were just "ok" to me, really not that special. They are street taco sized, and we've had much better versions at other places and food trucks. The venue is very small, but there are two TV's inside and the chairs are padded (but the bench inside is not). They have about 10 beers on draft along with a draft cider and kombucha. (FYI - the blonde is very light & tasty, would recommend). Service was good, even though they were quite busy around 5:30pm. There is no happy hour, only daily specials (i.e. Taco Tuesday, Wing Wednesday, Thirsty Thurs, Slider Saturday, etc.) and beer prices are around $8 for a pint. I would be willing to try the wings & sliders, but for tacos I'd think we would pass on trying them again.

Met up with some good friend for taco Tuesday. It was a full house but found some seating. (There is a couple of tables inside and in the front patio, but most of the seating is outside on the side of the building). Very relaxed, backyard feel making it feel like home. They have weekly specials Tuesday-Friday (see photos of menu) Service was great, friendly and down to earth. They explained everything so well when we had questions. Tacos were smaller than I expected but packed with flavor and loved the variety of options. Poki Ahi was fresh, savory and yummy. Personal favorite was the chorizo cheese fries—Wow, everyone in the group couldn’t stop eating them. Root beer float was nice and big. Overall a staple place to grab a drink and some good grub without losing out on value. Looking forward to going back.

We stumbled upon this cute little place, its small in fact very small. Gastrpub style works very well for this place. Room to improve on quicker service and pricing. If you are very small group and ready to wait for your food, this place is great. We will go here again and update my review soon.

Friendly staff and great owner.

We were really happy to see this place with great rating, but not so impressed with the speed of the service and taste of few item we ordered. Also, based on the style of this place, price is on little expensive side.

Since it is a Tavern, I shall start with Beer review Beer: Smart collection of top bears from local breweries from Ballast Point, Green Flash, Lost abbey, Saint Archer, Alpine, Belching Brewers, Pizza Port, Booz Bros, Mother Earth, Stone and 21st Amendment My Favorite is Great Divide - Yeti, Full Body stout, satisfying. Avery, a White Rascal Witbier beer Pizza port pickleweed

Food 5/5: Buffalo Chicken Nachos. Nachos is not chips but fried tortilla in soaked in buffalo sauce chicken. Wish it had some onions and avocado.

4/5: Cheesy chorizo fries, Yumm perfect fries with melted cheese.

4/5: Spicy Korean BBQ tacos, nicely cooked stakes but not so spicy

3/5: 508 Summer Salad, average 3/5: Capresse Salad, again average

2/5 Avocado Toast: Too much of balsamic vinegar dressing made it very tangy and bread was super...

Super cute tavern. After so many nights saying we really should go to 508, we finally went. And we kicked ourselves for not visiting sooner. We sat inside where there's limited seating at the bar and a few other tables. There were a couple of TVs to catch the Padres game. And everyone just enjoyed their time. We'd all chime in on random conversations, then go back to our table's conversation. Anytime someone new walked in, the whole room greeted them. The waitresses were just awesome - welcoming, conversational, funny. Fun front porch seating and a big tent oit thr side door for ample seating options.

Plenty of local beer, which is required in North County. The ahi, mango and avo poke with wonton chips was delicious and fresh. The kitchen was kind enough to accommodate my son's request for the fried chicken sandwich to be "deconstructed." Amazing place that will become our...
