Belching Beaver Brewery Tavern and Grill (Downtown Vista) — Restaurant in Vista

I can't begin to say how much I love the food here. The tots meal, A MUST!!! OMG divine. I'm addicted. They have special dishes that just delight the taste buds and all your senses. One day my daughter was supposed to pick me up my favorites on her way home, I was so looking forward to it, as i had been recovering from an ischemic colitis attack, "lamens terms, a stroke in my colon" & i nearly died from hemorrhaging. I was finally able to eat solid food. You have no idea the anticipation and joy i had. She grabbed my favorite meals, and headed to me. Now know this, the prices r a little high, but they dont jip u on quality and quantity, those to go containers R just wow. Especially the taters, with the gravy. Ohhh, my heart. Long story short, 🤣😫😭, something got caught up in the door, or the handle broke on the bag, 😭😭😭😭she doesn't really know what happened, but everything took a dive😱, because like I said they dont jip u in quantity like other places do. So all our food was ruined. You know how you have certain places you eat, and absolutely lovvvve, and ur expecting that food, that first bite of the tots, the gravy, the meat if u eat meat. But then something happens, like the kids ate it, or it wasn't in your order bcuz somebody forgot, or the kids at it all and left you one bite, and u genuinely feel anger!!! And you feel like crying!! 🤣🤣🤣 This is how I felt about not getting my dinner from belching beaver, that i had waited months waiting on release from doctor to eat solid food. It was supposed to be my first solid food meal. It had to be because their food is that good. Well it was total devastation and I cried and had soup. Same thing I had been eating for weeks. Anyways I had the beaver taters dam coming, the loaded sprouts, and the 2 fish taco plate. I recommend all the food. They also do an amazing veggie burger. Delicious!! A MUST try place. We came here for a first date and were immediately seated outside in their incredibly cozy backyard-like setting. The ambiance was perfect for conversation and getting to know each other. Our server was prompt and attentive, quickly taking our drink orders. Since we were both opting for non-alcoholic beverages, we appreciated the readily available water with lemon and iced tea. My date recommended we try a couple of their appetizers, and they were fantastic choices. The Bavarian Style Seasoned Pretzel was a real treat, served with not one, but three delicious dipping sauces: a classic beer cheese, a spicy beer cheese for a little kick, and a flavorful smoked mustard. We also ordered the Fried Brussel Sprouts, which were an explosion of flavors and textures. The cherry balsamic glaze offered a touch of sweetness, balanced by the tart dried cherries and creamy blue cheese crumbles, all enhanced by the crunch of almonds and the savory bacon. We were both very satisfied with these dishes. The outdoor seating area truly stood out. It had a wonderful, inviting ambiance, and the multiple fire pits scattered around kept the space warm and comfortable despite the cooler weather trying to creep in. It was also lovely to see that the restaurant is pet-friendly, with several other customers enjoying the evening with their dogs. In Jan 2024, My husband and I visited a friend in the hospital and went out for an early dinner afterward at The Belching Beaver in Vista. Cute area & nice looking restaurant. We would have liked to have given this place 5 stars. The food was great and the wait staff were wonderful- we think. Unfortunately, we had an incident where our credit card was compromised or cloned and used at another restaurant in San Diego County that same night -for hundreds of dollars. When we reported it to the person who said he was the manager, he scoffed and was incredulous that it could have happened at their establishment. Not the reaction we would have expected and there seemed to be a lack of understanding and empathy. We have no confidence that he will even look into it. This was the first time we have ever had an issue with one of our credit cards- where it was used illegally somewhere we have never been. Thankfully, our credit card company had alerted us of the suspicious charge almost immediately, so we were able to block the charge and receive new cards. Prior to discovering that our card was compromised, we had intentions to come back to this restaurant whenever we visit in the area but now we are left with very negative feelings about this place and don’t trust them to protect...
