So we decided to come to a place called crust and fire in New Jersey This particular Location is in vorhees. When we came in we were not greeted and sat ourselves, Not being native to this area maybe this is how this works , which is fine , we think they should put a sign , please Seat yourself. Also we weren't sure if we were supposed to order at the counter or if they had waitress service which they do. Eventually, a young lady came over to take our order, she was very nice. We decided to order a lentil and sausage soup. Which was good We also ordered a grilled salmon caesar salad With the dressing on the side Which makes it a little difficult to toss, So we decided to have the kitchen toss the salad as a lot of places do offer the option of having it tossed, topped or on the side. We also ordered a whiskey bacon burger this was very good with nice fresh french fries in acute little basket. And I ordered an impossible Burger put it in place of the regular burger on the truffle burger. It didn't come out with truffle on it So i asked for a side of truffle And that made all the difference. The service was Good they were very attentive, and the waitress actually did a little homework for us finding out which dressings do not have dairy, eggs or animal products in them thank you For taking the time to do that, which can be a real pain, Especially when you are busy at this particular time they were not busy so I figured I'd ask and they have at least six options for dressings that are vegan. A few key takeaways. I think this restaurant would benefit by having a sign that says please seat yourself. There was a cashier off to the right I’m not sure if she saw us or not, a greeting could go a long way with guidance as we were still not sure if you were supposed to walk up to the counter and order if you look in the pictures it kind of looks like that’s what you’re supposed to do But we were uncertain. This place with a few tweaks to the menu because they have most of the ingredients necessary could have vegan and vegetarian options and with the disclaimer at the bottom with the markings V for vegetarian VG for vegan would open up the market for more customers from what we’ve seen many restaurants are...
Read moreA weird dining experience. My family visited looking for good charbroiled burgers. We walk in, see a counter area with drinks etc at the rear wall so we go there thinking maybe we order there? We're told we can sit wherever we want so we pick a booth and sit. The booths are tiny and uncomfortable. We're small people 5'5" so if you're a big boy or girl, you'll need one booth side, per person.
We wait a while and no one comes to take our order, so I ask and we're told, we can order at the front of the store. Ok, so now we all get up, walk to the front and watch the courteous lady scurry from the rear counter area, to the front to take our order. There's a tip jar and an option to give a tip on the credit card receipt. This really bothered me. Do I tip without actually being waited on or do I not tip and risk someone spitting in our food. I tip $5 and we all walk back to our table. Food comes quickly (the place was empty). The burgers were good but all were overcooked. No pink center, no juice- a little dry. You could tell it was quality ingredients but a burger that costs $13 each, shouldn't be dry. Ok, whatever, lets eat.
Oh wait there's no salt\pepper\ketchup so I ask the sort of waitress for some, she points to the opposite side of the room. We all get up again, to retrieve our condiments.
All I can say is the owner or management here does not understand hospitality. The waitress was courteous and kind, the quality of food was good, the preparation of the food was meh, but most of all when I go out and spend $70 on 4 burgers and drinks I should be waited on - not expected to get up to order, get up to get my condiments, etc.
I could even look past all the above as just a quirky setup, but putting me in the uncomfortable position of asking for a tip, where there is no waiter/waitress service and I don't even know how good or bad the food is yet, is just plain bad management.

Read moreI work across the street from Crust N Fire and have had mostly mediocre experiences—not great, but not terrible enough to leave a review. Today, however, was different. I ordered the Avocado Toast for the first time and immediately regretted it.
When I picked up my order, one of the sunny-side-up eggs on top of the toast was nearly raw, with only the bottom layer cooked and at least a tablespoon of raw egg white on top. It was completely inedible. I took it back, politely asking for the egg to be redone. The staff member was understanding and assured me it would be fixed.
A few minutes later, she returned to tell me the chef said, ‘That’s how it normally comes.’ As a professional chef myself, I know there’s no way a properly cooked sunny-side-up egg should arrive mostly raw. She agreed and explained that the Sunday chef is different from their usual staff.
The replacement came out properly cooked, but when I sat down to eat, I was thoroughly disappointed. The dish was completely unseasoned—bland eggs on bland avocado on flavorless toast. It lacked even the most basic seasoning beyond a couple of specks of black pepper on the egg.
While I’ll continue to visit Crust N Fire for other items, I’ll be steering clear of anything with eggs, especially the Avocado Toast.
(I would’ve taken a picture of the original egg but I was in the middle of working and was rushing to get a replacement, leading to a lack...
