This apartment complex is disgusting. The fact that they use smoke and mirrors to make their apartments look good and up to date is a joke. “Live modern” is their slogan, and it’s anything but modern. They do pointless construction to the outside of the property, such as sealing the parking lots, new side walls and siding (that literally had no issues) to make their apartments appear to be very nice from the outside, but once you’re inside, it’s just the opposite. Washers and dryers are 15+ years old, mine was specifically 18 years old. The dryer also doesn’t vent out, so it’s comical that they have the vent exhaust covers in the outside of the buildings and a vent in the bathroom, all it does is spin a fan and rotate all of your humidity in your bathroom, causing mold and mildew build up, bubbling and cracking paint on the walls and ceilings. They use all cheap products for any repair. They moved my family in with used and worn away carpets. After arguing for months, they said they would replace the carpet which was a nightmare. The carpet company they use half ass’s the job and use carpet they’ve already cut for another apartment, just piecing it together rather than a brand new roll of carpet. After installing the “new” carpet, they had to come back 3 times within 1 month to make repairs to it. Carpet wasn’t stapled or glued down the correct way, it was coming up in multiple spots after they “fixed” it 3 different times. I couldn’t vacuum my floors without more carpet ripping. The air conditioner/ heating units are disgusting and full with mold and mildew, I had both of my units replaced 2 times each. There was mold growing in my child’s closet, and my neighbors unit was leaking into my apartment for a year, which eventually started to leak into my apartment. I had them come treat for bugs/flies/gnats multiple times, but the pest control guy doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing. A little spray and some traps is all they did, when I tried to explain that the pipes from the sink and dishwasher were disgusting, which is where they lay their eggs. I had to hand my own fly traps because of their incompetence. Bathtub faucet broke multiple times and shot out and hit my child when I turned the water on to give them a bath, Xfinity had to rewire my entire building due to all deal coax lines, my building, building 1600 flooded every time it rained. You had to walk through a foot was water to either leave or enter your apartment, sliding glass door wheels broke and the maintenance guy literally ignored the broken frame, put a new wheel on and put it back, which it immediately stopped working again since the frame was broken where the wheels are installed, there was a hole in the corner of my floor and wall to the outside. You could see light come right through, kitchen cabinets were old and warped when we moved in, also peeling, which you could tell it was just cheap cabinets. Not one appliance was “energy efficient”. If you want to dry your clothes, you have to leave the bathroom door open to expel all the moisture, unless you like running a dryer 3 cycles. My electric bill was astronomical, over $400 a month. The master bedroom AC/heat unit that is also connected to the 2ed bedroom didn’t have a vent to the 2es bedroom, for a year I was just blowing heat and AC into the walls, wondering why my kids room wasn’t getting cool or hot.
Rent is constantly raised, but they never update or upgrade your unit. They use cheap, bottom of the barrel products and appliances. The maintenance team is extremely unprofessional, making derogatory remarks about women not being able to do anything a man can, or they just lack any knowledge of repairing something the correct way.
Anytime you try to hold them accountable for poor maintenance, they would come up with excuses and try to make you feel that you were the one doing something wrong. Any response seemed like it was scripted and would work around an actual answer or solution.
Don’t move your family here. You will...
Read moreHad a 1bd breakfast bar w/ balcony.. After a couple years living at the village there’s definitely some pros and cons. I personally never had an issue with anyone in the leasing office except when I complained about a bee infestation outside my apartment and felt they didn’t take my request as serious as it was. Overall, everyone is nice and helpful every time I called. I did reach out 2 weeks after I moved out just to inquire about final inspection and Ms. Treminio literally got back to me within 15 minutes. Super nice and understanding. Pros: Super safe neighborhood SO CONVENIENT! Everything is either down the street or walking distance. Maintenance fast and super nice. I always had long conversations with one of them. I think Tim! Super nice and Super personable! Apartment itself was decent for what the rent was AT FIRST. Everything in my unit was brand new so no complaints. Never had mice or bugs! Grass is literally cut every single week so grounds are well kept. I felt peaceful in my apartment. They do TRY to make living better but, not always in the right way. They gave us new balconies but i would have preferred hardwood flooring or something. They gave us a package room but the community is super safe and packages don’t really do missing so i would have preferred upgraded appliances or something for the price of rent. They provided bikes that we have to pay for but, never seen anyone ride them so I just think the money could have went to upgrades within the apartment. Overall great community and complex! Cons: Rent started off reasonable however, increased 110 first year, and 105 second. Went from 1255 to 1470 utilities are not included so add an Additional 100-150, which is why I had to move. It made more sense to pay that amount of money for a bigger and better unit. Personally, I know it’s not the leasing office per se raising the rent, so I don’t want them to feel attacked however, I think First Montgomery Group management as a company is very money hungry. While the apartment units are decent they are not luxury and therefore not worth the price of a mortgage. They are SUPER SMALL! No hardwood floors in any unit as they don’t offer upgraded units. Their upgrades are considered stainless steel appliances that’s it.. In a standard you get white appliances, carpet throughout, no lighting. Only lighting in dining, kitchen and bathroom, the hot water heater is out in the open (very ghetto to me, i covered mine lol again rent so high and my hot water heater just chillen out in the open), closet is very small, Not really walk in more like take a step and stand in lol, walls are thin. In addition started off as a dog free building. A year later the whole community is now dog friendly which can be very frustrating when you constantly hear barking and thumping. Also one last con they allow you to smoke in your units as well so if you live in the middle of smokers GOOD LUCK you’ll smell it in your unit! I did complain and maintenance came to seal a hole. It worked a little but i still smelled it. Maintenance was great! All in all, I just don’t think rent should have increased no more than 20-50 bucks a year for current tenants. Charge new tenants the market pricing. But apparently this is going on everywhere. So i say this to say, only takes one apartment complex to make a difference. Overall, back when the rent was reasonable, I’d recommend this community but, honestly if your going to spend 1500-1600 on apartment living, I would suggest researching all of your options FIRST because you could definitely get a bigger unit with upgrades for your money. Paying this much for these basic units is a bit unreasonable in my opinion. Again, this is a nice community and the apartments are decent i just don’t think they are worth 1600 dollars that’s all. The best thing about living there was the convenience of things. Hope this...
Read moreThe Village at Voorhees is by far the worst Apartment complex in Voorhees. Half the maintenance men have no idea what their doing. I am a carpenter, and worked as a maintenance man in Philadelphia for Woodward properties. And when I noticed leaks on my 2nd floor ceiling in a 3rd floor building. I called the office and let them know. The office said they were busy and would send a man out as soon as they could. Also when the leaks appeared it didn't rain for days and their was no plumbing on that side of the building. Turns out our neighbor had a dog that couldn't be walked because he was blind and very old. So the dog was constantly urinating in the same spot for a while. And it leaked through their floor and onto our ceiling, which then made the tape and spackle fall apart and leak on our floor leaving dark urine stains. I told the maintenance guy that it was urine, and the office as well. They said they would find out what the problem was exactly and fix it. They came one day and the maintenance man went upstairs and agreed and said that it was urine. It was around October when this happened. The office kept denying that it was urine and said they had to keep investigating what the leak was, long story short, they ended up sending a guy in mid December, who came in and sprayed Kills Spot Remover And primer on our ceiling, and called it fixed. When it dried all you could see was a huge bright white spot on our ceiling which was so noticeable. Our lease was up and we decided to move into another apartment up stairs. And they billed us 300 for shampooing the floor and cleaning. The apartment was a dump to begin with. The spackle work looks like a toddler did it, The doors and windows are drafty on our sliding door and window mildew constantly grew around the whole frame. The bathroom vent and was busted, mildew would grow every 2 weeks on the ceilings and walls. And the caulking on the shower was half gone and deteriorating. And to top it off the stains on the carpet were from their/my upstairs tenants. Not to mention your suppose to get one free carpet shampoo a year. We seen the bill and went to the office, talked to the manager, who through out our whole urine on the ceiling problem, would say she would call us before they closed and never did and it went on so long that it took almost 2 and a half months for them to send someone for twenty minutes to spray Kills on it. When we talked about the fee to clean the apartment after we had moved she was very rude and ended up taking 100 off the fee. And was so nasty about it too. So we moved upstairs, and walking barefoot I kept stepping on nails under the carpet. So I video taped myself with pliers grabbing the tip of the nail stick straight up and ripping them out. Showed the office and they did not care at all. The grounds outside are horrible. There is dog poop everywhere. When the dog waste cans are full, they're never emptied promptly and within a few day there is bags of poop scattered around the container overflowing around onto the grass, and on the walkways. They do a horrible job plowing and shoveling. This apartment complex is so horrible words can't describe it. And the office is just as bad. The siding is so dirty in summer time and there's always trash flying around in the grass, poop everywhere. On a hot summer day it reeks so bad. Just overall worst apartments in the area, and they over price the apartments so much. Whatever you do move somewhere else. The only reason there's a star on this review is because cant publish it...
