I love the international theme and creative vision of this charming woman-owned rosey-colored selfie-walled photo-friendly fairly large venue located in/by in the coolish freshly remodeled location of Waco next to the old fire station building. āØšø
Everything is specially made by the sweetest and talented pastry & cake baker-with excellent customer service, btw: Adaline! š°
My New Yorker bestie and I were thinking this space would be fantastic for a sweet party event and/or after dinner location to have Adalineās homemade desserts such as her French macarons, customized iced and hot drinks, and her classic espresso offerings.
There are little white marble tables with flowers and rose and teal colored couches with great parking and we loved her selection of music-old jazz and classical we felt like we were in a little shop in Europe. š
I also like that they are open on Sundays-very refreshing and convenient-good to know, since most everything seems to be closed in Waco on Sundays-the one day that people have off and come in for dinner or movie theatre music night! Anyway, I digressā¦lol.
She caters, customizes, and it was fun to watch her work on hundreds of cupcakes š³š§for something and cakesš for another occasion while we were there!
I especially liked her classic fresh Portuguese š® options with hints of cinnamon and a quality Cortado made right. āļø
Her Japanese Cherry Blossom Sakura and Matcha I want to try next. Iām obsessed with all things Japanese, right now!ššµš”
*She does put her own spin on some of these global classics, but I think that is part...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI pre-ordered (on July 25) a caramel swirl cheesecake for my elopement/wedding(Sept 27). When I picked it up the cahier closed up the box instead of showing me the cheesecake. Since I didn't order anything special on top because we were decorating it ourselves I didn't think too much about seeing it before I left and usually when I pick up a cake I pre-ordered it is shown to me before I leave. When I arrived back at our Airbnb and opened it there was whipped cream all over the top edge. Normally that would be fine but not for the design we had planned for our wedding. My mom carefully took off the whipped cream to find that the edge was burnt and the sides were very sloppy. The crust was also cracked in a couple places. The cheesecake was also not at all what I thought it would be for a simple caramel cheesecake, just white cheesecake with some swirls of caramel in it. My mom made a quick run to Walmart and got a plain cheesecake that we added caramel swirls to on top. I will say though that the cheesecake from Around the World bakery was incredibly good tasting! Definitely one of the best tasting cheesecakes I have ever had. Just disappointed it wasn't what we wanted for our wedding and was burnt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI tried a strawberry matcha here, which they call a Japan matcha, and was unfortunately not impressed. If you don't drink matcha, this will probably still be okay, but if you drink it frequently you won't like the matcha here. You can see the color in the pictures, but it is a dull muted khaki green, not the vibrant green matcha is supposed to be (1st picture is freshly made, 2nd is mixed a few minutes later). If I had to guess, I'd bet a lot of money they're cheaping out on low quality matcha, not spending a bit more money to get good quality and you can certainly tell. I didn't get a strong matcha flavor either, so I think they're also not even putting enough of the low quality matcha in when they make the drink. It's kind of sad because it's pretty easy to learn how to make and source/buy good matcha with a few Google searches or watching some TikToks so there's really no excuse to be brewing and serving such bad drinks. Again, if you're not an avid matcha drinker you might not notice or care, this is just a warning to...
