WOW!!!!! Wish I could give Baylor Club more stars!! 5 Stars just doesn't seem like enough!! As a public relations major/professional I think my brain has been trained to notice the little things employees do but the staff at Baylor Club exceeded any expectations I may have had. Typically, it is large corporations who noticed/recognized for their public relations, but it is Baylor Club that should be training the rest of the state!! Let me explain....We were in Waco with our close friends for a fun filled afternoon after both of our daughters ordered their college rings that day (one Baylor & one Tarleton). Our friends invited us to dinner with them at Baylor Club. When we arrived, the hostess asked if we were celebrating something, and we explained. While waiting for our orders the staff delivered a balloon bouquet and two congratulations cards. We thought this was so sweet! Then the girls got to looking at it all - not only were there green/gold balloons for Baylor BUT the staff had also included purple/white balloons for Tarleton AND because they didn't have a purple balloon THEY MADE ONE by putting a blue balloon inside of a red balloon....this is what I mean when I say they went ABOVE AND BEYOND!! Then the girls started looking at their cards....they weren't just a typical "congratulations" card but they were each personalized and not only signed by each staff member but each staff member wrote a detailed personal note to each of the girls!! YALL!!! This is how you WIN customers....this is how you keep customers (and their friends) coming back.....this is how you get people talking about you (saying good things).....this is how you get people to recommend you to others!!! All other business should take notice!!! But....it didn't stop there!! One of our orders didn't come out exactly correct so they quickly made it right. THEN....one of the event planners/managers (Janet) visits our table and talks to the girls about their college rings - she then proceeds to invite them on a tour of the area ♥ I don't have enough words to tell you how AMAZING our experience at...
Read moreYou'll notice most of the reviews are from one-time events that folks attend. Membership at the club is overrated. The amenities are wonderful and the fare is generally good, but the service is at best mediocre and at worst awful. I used to go to the club often for lunch. When returning after the COVID shut down, I remembered why I stopped. The inexperienced and/or inattentive service makes having an hour lunch impossible. Dinner service is no exception. My last visit for brunch solidified my decision to leave the club. We sat for 15 minutes without being greeted. A manager (of which there are never less than 4) made sure to tell us that there was confusion over who would be our server. That's fine, but I really don't care. No one seemed to take ownership of the issue. Drinks were not refilled. Plates were not bused. Meals were served "auction style". My step son found hair in his food. No one seemed to care. Our server asked if we, "Wanted to talk to someone..." I'm not sure what that would be about other than we would rather not have hair in our food. I would rather save my dues and use them towards an exceptional meal at an establishment that provides quality food and service while appreciating my business, of which there are...
Read moreAte for dinner - Thursday night with a member and family. The Good: great atmosphere, very professional service from all employees. They really made us feel important. Great presentation of food. Great drinks. GREAT Fried Chicken entree. I highly recommend it. The Bad: even for a fine dining restaurant, the portion of "Pork chop" was tiny. I finished my food in about 3 minutes. Polenta was the side - a tiny triangle of it. I wish I ordered the fried chicken, but that just is more evidence that our wives are smarter than us! Also - ordered the "ice cream sandwich" for dessert. It was described in the menu as "ice cream vetween two warm - fresh baked cookies." Cookies were as cold as the ice cream rock hard! Impossible to eat. They never softened up. Good place to enjoy dinner, but order...
