This is my absolute favorite place in Waco. I have been eating my salmon lover bowl frequently for the past four years with no end in sight. The food is delicious, and quite literally ALWAYS fresh. I have never once seen any vegetables, meat, or even fruits that are anything but the best quality. The staff is great and the owner treats you like family, and he’ll always check on you once you’ve gotten your food. They also use Clover for a rewards system, so every ten bowls/crepes/ice creams you get one for free. Lastly, from the HUNDREDS of times I’ve probably ordered from here, many for delivery, I’ve never once had a wrong order— and I make quite a few moderations to my bowl. If you’re wondering if this place is for non-sushi-lovers too, it is! You can ask for your fish cooked, but if you aren’t a fan of fish, they have plenty of options. My boyfriend gets the steak or chicken teriyaki bowls and loves them, and my mom can’t eat fish but this is her favorite restaurant because of their yummy crepes. There really is something for everyone. Besides their food, their ice cream and drinks are also fantastic. They currently have a limited edition drink called “raspberry lemon sparkling water” that I’m in love with (my goal is to convince the owner to make it a permanent drink on the menu). Their other drinks are yummy and refreshing, and they come in the cutest little light bulb-shaped glasses. Also, if you don’t fill yourself to the brim with your main course, the ice cream is a perfect finish to your meal. It looks so cool rolled up, and you can put toppings on as you like. Lastly, they’ve rolled out a new app that’s incredibly helpful for ordering. The layout is super simple and there’s an option to pay in store upon pick-up (which is useful if you’re like me and hoarding Clover points, since you can’t register the points with your phone number if you’re paying online). The UI is really easy to navigate and you can take a more extensive look at the menu. I adore this place and its staff. J-Petal is always so busy so I’m praying that they can continue to open new locations and reach more people with their amazing food and service. Thank you J-Petal for the comfort food during good...

It's your senior year of high school, you are the starting quarterback of the football team playing in a playoff game that nobody expected you to make it to, you are down 6 in the last minute of the game and it's 4th & 5. Here's the snap. You catch it. You look. No pass options. The 250lb linebacker who's hudi profile everyone was gawking at in the locker room before the game has arms out stretched as he dives towards you. Split second decision. You pivot right. Run towards the outside, juke the remaining defense and step firmly into the end zone. Your entire hometown erupts in the bleachers behind you as you single-handedly bright home a win. If you were to convert this moment into a singular culinary experience, it would be a J petal poke bowl.

Man oh man, what I wouldn't do to get my hands on another one of those bowls of rice and raw fish cubes. "Raw fish cubes?!" You exclaim, "I don't like raw fish." I scoff at your ignorance. Set aside your dinosaur chicken nuggets for one meal and indulge the primal hunger inside of you which demands to feast upon the harvest...

The guy (co-owner) behind the counter was so amazingly rude. Quick to anger. I went in the morning. I used to go at least twice per week. Now, I don't go anymore. When I went, I was in the middle of placing my order, the phone rang and he (the co-owner) picked up the phone and proceeded to delete my order and take theirs. I stood there in disbelief. As I walked away, he started yelling at me to come back, he would do my order quickly. I later called to find out the manager's name, so I could talk to him to let him know what happened, we'll, I was surprised to find out that he was the co-owner. I explained to him why I had left, and he exploted. He said it was my fault he didn't get to take my order, and then he proceeded to say that it was the customer on the phone call's fault, never his. He then asked me where I worked and told me that our conversation was being recorded (after a few minutes of talking) and said he would release it. Ok, release it. Let everyone know how you treat and talk to your customers. Never going back. Their over $20.00 bowls aren't...

To be honest, from the street, I thought this was a flower shop, as all I could read was "J Petal". A pleasant surprise that, upon closer inspection, this is a crêpe and poké shop with icecream options. So I stopped in, and I am very impressed. The decor is clean, spacey, and still feels homey. The menu is varied, but not overwhelming, as all ingredients are listed. And though at first I thought the portions would be small for the price, I was again pleasantly surprised at the size of the crêpe. It was about 2 hands wide, and stuffed with deliciously grilled meat and spinach, with a nice spicy mayo sauce, the crêpe was sweet enough to compliment the spicey sauce but not clash with the flavors. It was spongy, and did not rip at all. The savory crêpe I ordered was the J Petal special. A nifty perk of packaging is that the paper cone it comes in tears easily so you dont have to fight it while on the go. I also ordered the strawberry colada, which comes in a cute little lightbulb drink, somewhere around 16oz.

I was intrigued by the Japanese crepe, so I visited. I ordered the beef crepe and a crabmeat poke bowl. The crepe was a very good blend of poke bowl flavors, beef was well coked to a tender morsel with pink center and the crepe holding everything added a very complimentary texture and slight sweetness to the whole mixture. The crab poke bowl was also very good with contrasting flavors including rho, crabmeat, teriyaki and contrasting textures including small crispy clusters, cucumber, and avocado. Prices are very reasonable and I thought I was high value for the money. My only disappointment is that there is not a J-Petal near where I live. If you are in Waco and want to try something a little different, I highly recommend. Update: went back with the family while visiting a year later. Had a tuna poke bowl, j petal crepe, and a dessert crepe. Everyone in the family including my 8 and 9 year old sons were impressed with our experience.

While driving in the rain. The raido announced a tornado in the area.👀 It was pouring rain 🌧. I saw this restaurant and drove up to let the rain pass by. What a nice place. They have sushi burritos! Whaaaaa! I was a sushi roll. I gave it a try and it was good. They also served a desert called a pedal crepe. Dude, I took one bite and could not stop eating. It made me forget about the lighting, thunder and pouring rain outside. Lol. I just kept eating. I'm taking my family back there one day. I know they'll feel the same. The atmosphere was nice It was cool, good music and a TV for entertainment. The restrooms were clean. It's definitely a plus. This is definitely a good spot to eat.
