Chick-fil-A — Restaurant in Waco

I once knew only chaos — forgotten sauces, burgers wrapped in despair, nuggets shaped like regret. But then, on one sacred lunchtime, I heard it:

“My pleasure.”

It was no mere phrase. It was a summoning. A portal opened in the sky. A giant waffle fry descended. The Holy Chicken flapped its golden wings and whispered into my heart: “Extra pickles… are a blessing.”

Shivers ran down my spine. I felt as though I’d been baptized in sweet tea.

Now, I wear Chick-fil-A polos to formal events. I exchange pleasantries in the sacred tongue: “May your nuggets be many.” “And your lines be short.” And, above all, the holiest of Chicken phrases: “My pleasure.”

I just wept writing that.

If this sounds strange to you, it’s because you’re still eating in ignorance — still trapped in the Unbreaded Void, still saying “you’re welcome” like some kind of barbarian.

But there is hope. Go. Order. Say “Thank you.”

And when they respond — when they look deep into your soul and say

“My pleasure.”

That’s when the transformation begins.

I’ve never been to a Chick-fil-A As slow as this location, and the workers are the most incompetent I’ve ever seen. Usually every Chick-fil-A Is on point, but not this one. This is a pretty new location, but it’s been open for months, so the kinks should be all Filled out by now. The first time I came I waited 45 minutes for a mobile order that I put in 30 minutes prior, the second time I waited over 30 minutes for a drive-through order, the third time I waited 40 minutes for another mobile order, and this morning I placed my order at 7:09, I’m still sitting here at 7:36 with no food. Isn’t that the point of the mobile order so that when you arrive at the restaurant, the food is ready and you don’t have to wait? If I wanted to wait, I would just order at the drive-through when I get there. I don’t know who the manager is at this location or if they even is a manager, but evidently they need some more...

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with kindness and patience. We had a group of seven, and the team member who took our order was so friendly—he even asked how our day was going and made us feel truly welcome. Our food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious.

What really made this visit special was the team leader with the toy chicken in his hand (which we loved!). He surprised us with a free ice cream, which we gave to the birthday girl in our group. A few minutes later, he and the Chick-fil-A team came out and sang Happy Birthday to her—it was the sweetest moment! He continued to check on us throughout the meal, offering refills and making sure we were taken care of like we were at a sit-down restaurant.
