I loved this place, very much. But I have some minor complaints. So when we arrived, we were a little disappointed by the parking lot. An odd number of handicapped spots. 🤨 Not odd in that it was weird, odd in that there were 9 spots. I didn't enjoy that. Well, minute point I suppose. So I get in and I am instantly greeted by a happy host, in a room big enough to support a big sporting event. The room was unnecessarily large. After the long hike to our table, we fell asleep for only like 15 minutes before we were asked to awaken promptly and enjoy a bountiful spread of great food and breads. Then I realized something terrible. I had sat on a bird's nest. A bird's nest! What? Why? How? Well, that is certainly one star off this review, I thought. But then I went to the floor and, wow, endless aisles of food so tempting I couldnt help myself from just grabbing a couple of grabs and instantly devouring it right there. I got back to my table and asked my wife "huh, there's no evidence any birds were here". She then pointed out that the birds nest was inside my shorts and not the restaurant's fault, so, they get that star back. The food was great.
Edit: The next day I realized I actually went alone so I'm not sure everything applies above but the...
Read moreI really enjoy eating here. The food is always good. Can't go wrong with any food item. Except for the sushi. Where's the sushi? One minute it's here and the next it's gone again. When you ask staff, they laugh. I don't know what to make of this?!?!?! When they stopped serving sushi, the menu price did not decrease. Not one red cent! But look at my photos. I love eating here. I eat here 2-3× a month. Hell, they know my name. Just as I know the wait staff's name. The Xmas decor has been up for the past 3plus years. Don't let that stop your taste buds. Just look at my photos. Look at the sushi, the missing sushi. That we love so much. I went to ichbatas restaurant the other day. I wanted sushi. I scented $55.00 and walked out angry and hungry. They piled so much gloop on top of the piece of fish, that I had to scrap and scrap and scrap all that nasty gloop off the sushi and once I was done.... the actual "sushi was as big as a corn kernel." I want Oceans sushi. I will pray to the sushi gods for its safe...
Read moreFor their coconut shrimp alone, I already love this buffet place I discovered for the first time today on my way back home to San Antonio from Dallas.
The buffet area is clean, orderly, and well-stocked with amazing specialties which, imo, were all prepared very well.
My 1st serving was coconut shrimp (always the first I look for at any buffet I know or visit for the 1st time). I had seafood salad and octopus salad in the same plate. All delicious.
My 2nd plate - to compare them with other buffets I have visited - fried breaded shrimp, crab rangoon, fried banana (plantain), buffalo wings . All tasted great tho not that different from the usual at other places.
Won't mention my next plate/s specifics anymore as they were also all good.
Wait staff was always busy helping get rid of your used plates. That's amazing hospitality apart from staff being friendly all the way from the receptionist to the wait staff. Will surely come back next time I get a chance.
Whole restaurant was clean as well as...
