Shorty's Pizza Shack — Restaurant in Waco

The hostess was extremely sweet and helpful. We had called prior due to having a large group of 40+ but when we arrived we were informed that the heaters they were expecting to have in place didn’t come in. So with that outside option not being there due to it being so cold that night we asked to be placed on the waiting list for the inside. I was there and hour early so figured why not, I’m gonna be waiting anyways. Then we were informed we wouldn’t be able to sit inside because their rules are to only sit 20 people. We ended up being able to put half inside and the others outside bundled up or playing football haha. Our server was Lacy in the inside and she was absolutely phenomenal. She waited on the large group so well, everyone commented about how nice and thorough she was. When I called in the gentleman taking my order was very nice. My togo order was estimated to be ready in 15 mins. When I arrived in about 12 mins it was ready so very quick. In person the togo section of the restaurant was very nice just like on the phone. Literally more than pleasant to talk to. The pizza was solid. Just got half cheese half sausage because it was for my kids but I ate some and was more than satisfied. The sausage was the small crumbled sausage and the cheese was quality. Crispy crust with a good chew. The only knock from just being picky and and deeply critical when eating at an pizzeria is the still use screens instead of direct on stone. But good New York style pizza with even better service. Looking at the restaurant when walking inside too they had a great outside area it seemed for kids to play. Definitely...

Went early around 4:30 with a party of 4, seated in dining room. We were greeted and ordered drinks, ordered two pizzas. After a little while one pizza came but not the second when asked where it was waitress said was coming. Waited another 5 -7 minutes called over what might have been a manager or another waitress who when asked where our pizza was replied that is was coming that they only had one pizza oven and they cook them one at a time, clearly she knew nothing. We told her that we have been coming here since they opened had never gotten our pizzas separately. She asked if we were upset about it and we said yes.
