After ordering online for a curbside delivery, my wife and I drove about 3 miles to pick up our dinner order. We ordered 2 sandwiches, a Patty Melt and a whataburger with cheese no onions. When we got there, the app said park in a cubsside space and enter your space number. After about 5 minutes longer than our order was supposed to be ready, I went inside. I waited behind 2 girls ordering together. After 8 minutes, it was my turn at the cashier. I gave him my receipt and he asked my name. I said I was in space 3, he said I need a name instead . After giving my name he picked up 2 bags that had been sitting since I walked in. I asked him why they didn’t bring them out to us. He said they didn’t have anyone to bring them out. I can’t believe that a restaurant can operate this way. On top of everything else, when we got home and microwaved our now cold food, I realized I had a load of onions on mine, where the receipt clearly stated minus onions. If you ever detest a food as I do onions, then you know that the taste will linger long after you remove the item. If you don’t care about your business, or customers, or reputation, the just ignore this review and chalk it up to “that’s the way we do things here”. As for me, I will post and repost this experience everywhere I can. I will tell my family and neighbors and friends. I will post on every social networks. One daughter is a teacher at Midway ISD nearby. Another daughter works at a medical office also nearby. I can only assume you more than enough customers to run your business, that you no longer need or strive to...
Read moreWhile no fast food restaurant is perfect, I am leaving a 5 star review because I witnessed the staff handle a very difficult situation with 100% professionalism, and I feel like their young staff should be commended.
I visited one afternoon with my son and one of his friends after the UT-Baylor game. We were sitting down and enjoying our meal when an older lady starting having a raging fit up at the counter. This lady was harassing the staff, yelling, and doing her best to belittle every single employee working. I'm not sure what her issue was outside the fact that the staff seemed to be having a good time at work. I don't mean having a good time as in anything negative, but rather they seemed to be enjoying their work. They were smiling and laughing with one another, as well as their customers. For some reason, this lady took exception and decides to try to rip these kids for being serious enough to her liking. The staff on hand was very polite to her, despite the way they were being treated. Noone interrupted her, tried to argue with her, or attempted to entertain her negativity. They maintained their cool, continued to address her with respect, and even apologized and wished her a good day.
Given the current climate, I commend these workers for handling this the way they did and not stooping down to her level. She was completely out of line, but the staff handled themselves with grace....

Polite, friendly, and efficient even when under-staffed during a rush. The management, kitchen staff, cashiers, and drive-through attendants at this noble sanctuary of Alpha-tier Texas fast food are a bastion of texas charm and amazing work ethic in a bleak fast-food landscape. Where patrons of many other Fast Food joints are often burdened with the poor attitude, inefficiency, and ineptitude of full grown adults working at said establishments, those same patrons will find a young staff (all about high school age, save for management) with a work ethic that literally gives me hope for the future of the country. I’m not being facetious, that’s not a superlative. These people are going places.
I came through the line at 9:15am on a Saturday. The drive through line was nearly to the street. 5 people, 2 of which were managers, were working the register, grill, drive through, and lobby. Lobby still managed to look immaculate—I don’t say that lightly. What’s more, my order was finished, hot, and made correctly in less than five minutes. I formerly thought that Athens had the best Whataburger in the state. I’m now convinced that Hewitt can boast Whataburger supremacy. Keep up...
