06/21/2021: (Delayed Entry) This review entry is a little delayed due to my busy schedule, but I want to share my experience at this establishment since it was beyond HORRIBLE and INEXCUSABLE. We were in the area to visit another Member of the family who is chronically ill and had our 2 small puppies with us, who are both Nationally ESA Certified. Since it was so hot outside (90°+), we tried to search for a location that was dog friendly because our pups are just as part of our family as any human relative. With that said, we called "The Backyard Stage and Grill," that same day (Monday, 06/21/2021 3:22 PM CST) and spoke with a young girl who told us, while she was on speaker phone, that th establishment is dog-friendly and that they allow ESA Certified Pets "outside AND inside" their facility "as long as they're calm." After she confirmed, we let her know that we were planning on visiting, shortly after our conversation.
We arrived around 3:45 PM CST, walked in with our puppies, both, calmly on a leash and chose to sit outside since we tried to find seating under some shade since they had big fans outside to help deflect the heat. A few of my family Members went inside, after we looked at the menu, to order at the front counter with a younger guy. We ordered, the food came out, but was incorrect, not hot or fresh, and the staff was unprofessional and rude.
After trying so many times to give this place f to fix the issues we were experiencing, I finally asked to speak with a Manager. A guy who said he was the manager walked in, didn't even ask us, directly, what the problem was and begun to tell us that our dogs were not allowed inside. We tried to let him know that they have papers and are certified support dogs and that we even called, prior to going but he just kept interrupting, didn't want to listen to what we had to say, and even had the audacity challenge the fact that we called before we went and said that we didn't call, not to even mention the phone record. At this point, there was no reasoning so I calmly and politely asked him to reverse and comp the transaction of our entire meal so we could leave due to the rude, unprofessional, and abnormally POOR service that we received. He then smirked, and said, "I figured that's what y'all wanted....." and walked away, making it seem like another group of people who just wanted a free meal.
Ummm....NO. We are neither poor, hungry, or in "need," so that in itself was insulting to all of us. He then came back, we gathered our things, and walked out the door. Next thing you know, this older guy with a "gray-haired thinning messy man-bun" aggressively chased after us as we were already outside and walking back to our car just to tell us that he was the owner of the facility, that "his staff isn't rude as we previously mentioned to the manager, that we were wrong and just wanted free food," went on to insult us and said that we weren't welcome back in...
Read moreseveral good points are overridden by the bad points. The fat bouncer outside with the power trip attitude has watched too many tv show bouncers. He could cause a lot of people to never get inside to see how nice everyone else is. We went to see David Allen No Show and the event ad on facebook said it opened at 6, but on arrival at 5:58 was informed that menu stopped at 6 and only bar menu after that. Oh well disappointing, but bar menu looked pretty good. most of us ordered the sliders and deemed them good. I ordered the trash can which was described in the menu as smoked brisket chili, cheese and jalepenos. add chips for $1. It was actually the brisket chili stuff over a massive bed of fritos, onions, pickles jalepenos and no cheese. I dont care for fritos, so had to discard about half of the meal. The menu should accurately depict the product especially when you have to stand in line 20 minutes just to order. We got there early to eat and get a good seat inside due to the possibility of rain and because a couple of our people dont care for cigarette smoke. The juke box played VERY LOUDLY while the guy sang so as we couldnt here the entertainment we paid over $100 to hear. I understand the horrible bathroom situation is to be remedied soon. The owner appears to care and try hard (he offered to refund entry fees to anyone who couldnt stay until Coe finally showed up (i heard it was after midnight)). truthfully the opening act was probably better than the headliner. **It will be a really good place if he 1. fixes the menu 2. replaces the powertrip bouncer 3. improve the food ordering process 4. $4 beer? c'mon..a little high and most important 5. TURN THE JUKEBOX OFF WHEN SOMEONE...
Read moreI was giving my order to the young man at the register and as I asked what were the ingredients to some of the items he kept having to ask his co worker because he didn't know. When my food came out everything that he had mentioned would come on my burger didn't come with it. The young lady that brought out the food was rude as I was trying to explain to her my situation about the ingredients missing she was turning her back and left me talking. I waited a few seconds to make sure all my order was correct. I walked inside and was calling out to the young lady to get my ingredients and she ignored me trying to rush into the restroom. As I called her out about 3 times she had finally turned around rolling her eyes. I told her what I needed and she rushed into the kitchen with an attitude. My partner later went back inside to get a couple of sauces and told her why she ignored me and she mentioned she was frustrated. Not to mention how the owner and manager treated us for our ESA dogs. I called ahead of time and asked if they allowed dogs and the lady on the phone said "yes, outside and inside as long as they behave." We were outside but there was to many flies and hot so we decided to move inside. We were approached by another employee that we were not allowed inside with the dogs. We called the manager as we were not happy with the service and told we were able to be inside and now we are not able to be. As we are leaving the owner comes out after us saying we are not allowed back and that his employees are not rude. We were visiting from Dallas and out of the hundreds of restaurants we have visited around the U.S this was far one of the worst experience we have had. Not...
