No longer new to Wakefield, Mojo shines in the area for offering the highest quality sushi available in Metro Boston. The co-owner/sushi chef is purchasing from the same exact suppliers and purchases the highest quality fish that the top tier omakase restaurants in Boston purchase. Mojo Sushi is not your run of the mill suburban low quality sushi restaurant which you can find in every town and city across the state. In fact, we have one of those places around the corner from Mojo. This restaurant focuses on providing the absolute best sushi available to customers. Do note, it is a tiny family owned/run restaurant, sometimes it is only the sushi chef / owner there, which limits the service they can provide. If you are looking for white glove service, this isn't what they are able to provide as a small restaurant. While there are plenty of quiet off hours to eat, sometimes they do get slammed from people who all want to eat at the same exact time, so you will need to be patient if you're choosing to dine when everyone else wants to. You will have a much better experience if you come during a slower day or less busy time to eat. If you want to place a larger order, call ahead with plenty of notice so you aren't waiting. The head sushi chef (co-owner) Allen comes most recently from Oishii in Boston and is always interested in any tweaks to make on the menu. He has a funny sense of humor and likes to joke around. If you don't like dad jokes or don't have a sense of humor, you may not understand (I saw a couple of negative reviews from people who clearly don't have sense of humors). The restaurant is cozy/tiny. It has some seating right at the sushi bar and less than a handful of tables (inside) in a small room next door. Definitely sit at the sushi bar if there is room. During nice weather, outside tables are also available, but if the Owner/Chef is all alone working, as is often the case during lunch hours, you may need to go inside to order. Both omakase style sushi and traditional sushi are available. Nigiri and sashimi are omaskase style by default. If you do not want certain nigiri lightly torched or with the chef's special toppings, you need to let him know when ordering, he is glad to accommodate however you want your sushi made, whether you want traditional sushi with no toppings, or omakase style as is, which will involve his special toppings and sometimes a light torch. Personally I order my nigiri or sashimi with his toppings but without a torch, because that is how I prefer my sushi. Don’t miss trying the oshizushi (oshi sushi) pressed sushi, one of my favorite Japanese sushi dishes. Available with your choice fish (salmon / hamachi are my recommendation) or vegetarian (vegan friendly) - the vegetarian/vegan option isn't on the menu anymore, but he will gladly accommodate the vegan/vegetarians in your party. I have updated my review since I have now come to eat here endless many dozens of times since they opened. You will not find a sushi chef around more dedicated to providing the best possible sushi available. Prices will be more than your run of the mill corner suburban sushi shop, but there is no comparison when you taste what he is serving in comparison. Some of my favorites are the Sake/Salmon, Bluefin Tuna (different and much better than typical Yellowfin Tuna), Hamachi/Yellow Tail, Ocean Trout, and Saba (Pickled Mackerel). He makes an excellent poke bowl as well. If you're on a tight budget, the poke bowls, oshizushi (pressed sushi), and handrolls are the most budget friendly sushi options on the menu.

This place did not disappoint. Although it is a small location, it helps keeps the interactions between customers and owners/chefs close.

We focused our orders mostly on individual nigiri and sashimi pieces. The Sushi Chef, who I wish I grabbed his name, carefully prepared each piece and explained his preparation afterwards. Although they looked simple, everything was well thought out and carefully executed. Each piece had their own unique taste but it did not take away from the fish itself. I was especially excited to hear that the uni and toro were just brought in not too long ago. I trust that this place will always provide the most fresh and best quality fish they can get.

The kitchen is also run by, who it seems, the wife of the Sushi Chef. She had asked us for our opinions on the dipping sauces for the fried oysters we ordered as appetizers. Both appetizers were deep fried to perfection and not oily.

They both continued to ask for feedback and our experiences. We found this very thoughtful. You can tell they wanted to continue to improve and provide quality of food and service. The menu is ample without being overwhelming so we are both excited to go back to try more things. Prices seemed very fair for a small business working with fish that tends to be on the pricer side the more close you get to Boston.

Looking forward to seeing this place grow as a business and become a regular place for us to dine at and enjoy good quality sushi and food.

Edit: Could not stop thinking about this place so we ended up coming back sooner than expected to try more items on their menu. Their noodle soups is very customizable which we really enjoyed. We both ended up getting ramen and it did not disappoint. Although the Sushi Chef, named Allen, was busy with an omakase session, the maki and nigiri we ordered still came out very...

Amazing quality sushi! Best local omakase & best value - it is a steal! They are new and testing the waters of what customers will want most so they can tailor their operations to best serve the community and guests. Please be patient as they start out & try to understand what will be needed (e.g., more servers, etc.). From what we could see, this small, family-owned restaurant is managed by wife and husband. Before 5 on weekdays, she has to manage their two young children in-and-out of school. So if you're planning for a large group, nights & weekends may be best (at least in the beginning) for swift service.

Huge recommendation, hurry in and try them now while they're still new. Have a feeling this place will be packed once the word spreads and gets out more. This is the kind of chef & creations that go viral. A must-visit for sushi, ramen, & Boba tea enthusiasts. Authentic and satisfying. Not only did we return same-day for dinner, but we came the next night too because we couldn't stop daydreaming of the deliciousness. We aren't the only ones. We sat at the chef's counter with two others who came in 5 times since opening last week. We got ramen delivery, had an omakase lunch, & returned for an app and sushi omakase combo dinner the next night. All delicious!!!!

They're working on their liquor license, but I hope once that is squared away, we can do an omakase & drink pairing experience. Can't wait to bring our friends and...
