Where do I begin? First we sat at the bar on a weekday before noon. Only a few people inside because it was early. The bartender/server was very nice but knew nothing about drinks. We asked for a shock top due to the sign being in the window. None present. Then asked for a modello. She asked us which bottle from the cooler. She had no recommendation on a drink because she doesn't taste the alcohol. Due to this I ordered an ice tea. I had the Chori Pollo which was very good. No complaints. Hubby ordered the jalapeño burger which according to him was terrible. Two thin patties that were dry and overcooked. The fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil that the chips were cooked in so they tasted like corn tortillas. The worst part was the burger was served almost 15 minutes after my plate was served. I was almost done with mine. Then I saw another server but possibly one of the owners wheel out a cart of plates to a table on a cart that should never go into the dining area unless it's bussing tables. I don't write too many reviews and am not a complainer but this had too many negatives for us to try them again even though my dish was very good. Service was very slow..... EDIT Note to self, maybe just not order a burger from a...
Read moreWow. What a bad experience ordering out from this place. First, person on phone said it would be around 15 mins. I had ordered the fajita for one, the chimichanga mixta and a side order of rice. I waited for a while at home and then went to get gas before going to restaurant, so it had been more than 15 mins. Got there, still had to wait considerable time for them to bring out food, and, no, they were not that busy. When she finally brought my food out, they had not put in tortillas for fajitas, so I have to ask them for some. Also, quantity of side order or rice was pathetic. You could see bottom of container there was so little rice. I had to ask for more, and they gave me more, but still....why have to ask? Gave me only 1/2 bag of tortilla chips and a tiny, little cup of salsa, so I had to use salsa I already had at home. I ordered chimichanga mixta, and the two chims were half the size of the ones you get at Puerto Neuvo. Drove straight home with food from restaurant (3 miles) but food was already cold when I got there. So the food must have already been prepared and waiting when I got there...why did I have to wait so long for them to bring out? Will never, ever order out from this place again. Cheap...
Read moreThe service was laughable, our waitress came back three times to ask about the house margaritas we ordered, she couldn't understand the word "flautas" even after repeating and actually spelling the word. I ended up pointing at the menu - it was actually kind of funny. No language barrier, this is a native English speaker, but I suppose my new England accent may have been a problem.
Our margaritas were lukewarm, to the point that i transferred ice from my water to bring the temperature down. Still, we ordered a second round of warm drinks, and to my shock, she brought mine salted, and my wife's unsalted, exactly as we ordered the first time!
Then the food came out and it was absolutely excellent, far and away the best we've had in the area. The flautas were exceptional, the baby ate a hill of beans and the big kids crushed their dishes as well. The salsa is not great, way too thin and really not very flavorful.
Still, by local standards this is a great Mexican joint, and even with the confusingly bad service, I'd eat there again.
Oddly, the box we were given for leftovers was obviously a...
