Ehr. Mah. Gerd...TACOS!!! My wife is from California, and I lived there for a way long time. The one thing my wife misses about Cali is the Mexican food. And let's be honest, Mexican food in Connecticut is at best...lacking. We have found some places we like, some that remind us of taco joints in LA and The OC. Sort of. If you squint real hard and don't look straight at 'em.

One day, I'm trying to figure out what we're going to do for dinner as I'm scrolling through Grubhub. All sorts of meh abounds. Then I see #Tacos. I figure, hey it looks good. They have all the right sounding things on the menu. What's the worst that could happen? So we decide to go there because, Tacos don't travel.

We drive up to this Itty bitty strip mall. We walk in. We are greeted with Banda blasting on the TV. Okay, not my music of choice, but certainly in keeping with the restaurant's rustic esthetic. Only a few tables, a cooler full of Jarritos. But the smell....the smell...straight outta the night taco stand that rented space in my business' parking lot from 9 pm to 3 am, slinging Tacos to hordes of hungry, homesick Mexican gente.

We order. We tuck in. We are transported home. Not just the wistful memory of home. Star Trek transporter home, so strong is the taste memory of what we enjoyed. Our first visit was on Saturday. Today is Wednesday, and it I'd already our third trip...

#disliked.....

This was our first time here and my husband just wanted tacos. Either way we looked up the time on Google and it said they close at 8pm, but after calling and asking the actually close at 9pm. We placed a phone order and were told 20 mins. After 25 min we arrive and the food was not ready. Young lady said it will be 7 minutes. Waited about 20 more minutes and finally got my food. Hubs ordered 3 shrimp tacos and 1 beef , said they were bland at best without any seasoning. I ordered the Fajitas (16$) and when I got home I didn't have any tortillas to wrap them in since they never gave me any. Steak was OK but the entire dish lacked flavor. The refried beans were dry and bland. Rice was not bad. Cheese was barely melted on, and we live no less than 4 miles away and ate it when I got home and it was barely warm.

#dissapointed .....

Either way today was my first and last visit. The total of the meal was $28 for fajitas and 4...

How this place ve has a 4.6 truly baffled me. I have gone here enough times to leave reasonable review. Our first time trying it, when it was still new it was good I almost thought it would replace my favorite taco spot that is just a town over. Well second time my entire order was wrong. The woman answering was rude and offered no rectification. The third order the tacos barely had meat the packed order made all the tacos so unappealing (I get it, not expecting gourmet, but not that mess). Fourth order was a last resort as we were hungry and it was on our way gone. I ordered beef tongue was told they only had enough for one taco. All tacos were beef. The tortillas were stale, meat was salty, it was so greasy that it dripped and barely edible. I hope they improve with reviews. That area...

Happen to be in the area and wanted some tacos. Came across this place and I am so happy my maps suggested it. Small family style place with great festive decor. Staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions. I order 5 tacos. Two shrimp, one fish and two carne asada. My wait time for the food wasn’t long at all and the prices are reasonable standard price for tacos. The tacos were absolutely delicious. The carne asada tacos were my favorite of the three but I will be back to try the different varieties they have as well as the dishes. They were authentic Mexican cuisine tacos and I definitely recommend this spot to anyone.

This is my new favorite place to go for tacos. It got rave reviews from my normally picky 7 year old. The chips were fried fresh per table, the accompanying salsa was flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. The al pastor, carne asada, and fish tacos were insanely delicious. All of the salsas served with were just as good. The horchata is homemade and not from a powder (major bonus points). The tortillas are made in house in small batches and we got to watch the cook make them as we waited for our food. I can not recommend this place enough.

We’ve eaten here twice now (takeout of course), and both times have been excellent! There is a great variety of foods and the flavors are amazing. You can really tell that everything (including the tortillas) are handmade in house. Prices are really reasonable as well. I always order more than I can eat and have to stop myself from eating too much because it’s so good! And the churros! A must have. Looking forward to trying the whole menu.
