Westbrook Lobster — Restaurant in Wallingford

I'm torn between giving WL a three star review or a four star review. Overall, service, food quality, speed of service was all very good. The CT lobster roll was busting with lobster and butter and was very good and enjoyable. The reason why I went with three stars is more based on my experience, which was hopefully isolated to just me however, my experience none the less.

I was visiting my in-laws in the Wallingford/ Cheshire area recently and everyone mentioned the CT lobster roll at Westbrook Lobster. I was traveling from NC so the only time I get a lobster roll worth mentioning is when I go to the northeast. I had been traveling all day and didn't have much time to grab food so I was starving. My brother in law picked me up from the airport and my first request was a stop by WL. We placed an online order about 20 minute from WL for two rolls and fried shrimp. The order went through, I received an email confirmation and all was good. When we arrived a few minutes before 6pm we were greeted by locked doors and a sign advertising they were undergoing renovations on that day. The next day I placed an order over the phone, fool me once..., the staff were all very friendly and quick to take my order. When I arrived my order was ready and everything went smoothly. I mentioned the transaction and the hostess went back to talk to the manager and when the hostess returned she said "they found the transaction and credited back the transaction". I would have expected some credit towards the meal for the mishap or something but apologies were we received. When I returned home and checked my credit card there was the charge...still on my card and never credited or deleted. I spent a good amount of time with the credit card company trying to...

Updating my original review! This was our second valentines day at Westbrook lobster for my my wife and I. We absolutely love this place! Whole their lobster dishes (Lobster rolls, lobster Mac and cheese, lobster grilled cheese, lobster croquet) are the absolute best their seafood and filets are amazing as well!

For this valentines day we started with the lobster garlic croquettes that were suppppperb. I had the surf and turf combo.. A fillet with lobster peices, hollandaise sauce, carrots and mash potatoes. Absolutely amazing. The filler melted in my mouth and the hollandaise sauce made it. The lobster as usual was spectacular. Veggies were fresh and loves the mashed potatoes. My wife had the fish dish and loved it.

For deserts we had the chocolate torte which was the darkest richest chocolate ever and a few von bobs my wife loved! Loved the valentines day Raspberry vodka cocktail as well!

For valentines day this is the perfect mood for us. The resteraunt was filled but not overfilled unlike every other resteraunt on this day making it nice cozy and relaxing. Service was quick and our waiter and staff were super friendly and amazing!

We hope to be back this summer on the deck overlooking the review enjoying some summertime lobster rolls! While dining in the winter is great, a nice lunch or early dinner by the river is so relaxing and this is a must...

OMFG!!!!!!! I wanted to try this spot because of the menu items I saw online. Those were not the menu items we were given when we got there so that depressed me some. There were a lot of things not on the actual menu. Possibly seasonal but I can’t see that. Maybe those items were not that popular. I really wanted the lobster pot pie, which was my main reason for going but,,,,, Let me start off by saying how very friendly the waitstaff were. From greeting to goodbye nothing but smiles. The food was excellent. The fish bites were amazing. My wife ordered the fried seafood platter and loved it. I have to tell you…. Growing up my father was a professional and commercial lobster fisherman, so lobster and fish was always on the menu and I order the lobster roll no matter where I stop just to try it out. With having said that…… I ordered the mega lobster roll and hands down I wanted to thank whoever made this delicious and succulent roll, it was the best lobster roll I have ever had in Connecticut. I also ordered the lobster carbonara and needless to say it was also amazing!!!! Drinks were pretty strong tho I ordered 2 and did not finish 1 as I was driving and started to feel a little too good inside if you know what I mean. All in all Thank you all for a fantastic night. We will be back again...
