Their menu says "jalapeno poppers with cream cheese" in the past it has been cheddar, not cream cheese. Several times in the last FOUR YEARS I ordered the "cream cheese poppers" to be served, cheddar poppers. So today I called and asked and the guy who answered the phone put me on hold while he "checked". He came back and ASSURED me that they are cream cheese NOT cheddar. I would not have ordered them if I knew that they were cheddar. So... To EVERYONE at Archie Moore's who is complacent in the incompetency of being able to correctly identify to their customers wether it is cheddar or cream cheese... DON'T YOU EVER QUESTION why "the state does this or that, it's so stupid, doesn't make any sense" OR, "why does X company have this stupid policy?" YOU ARE NO BETTER! They probably hire employees as bad as YOU! You are a RESTAURANT, FOOD is "what you do" and you either can't tell the difference between cheddar and Cream cheese (you are a hack don't tell your friends you are a "chef") or you are too lazy to even tell a caller you're menu is wrong and/or correct your menu. You are a HACK! I worked at Michael's Trattoria for 4 years, he would never let this fly. And like I said DON'T YOU EVER question why some other company is disappointing you when you refuse to do better yourself. "Why are gas prices so high?" They put people as dumb as you in charge of things, that's why. Do better cause you suck. Also it's way too loud in there, Wall off the dining area from the bar instead of...
Read moreWe decided to try this place after attending a game at a school down the street. It was pretty busy, when we walked in there was no place to stand while waiting for the hostess to seat us. It was awkward as we ( party of 5) were standing right at tables where people were eating. The hostess/waitress greeted us by telling is there was a 25-30 minute wait. We asked if we could eat outside at the tables there. A person in our party was worried it would be too cold, so we asked if we could just try sitting out and if it was too cold come back in and be put on the list. She seemed rather annoyed, but said fine. We tried the outside seating and two people in our party felt it was too cold out, so we went back inside. We walked back in to get our name put back on the wait list & since there is no wait area by the tables, we walked into the bar area to an empty round table by the front window. We had my 16 yr old daughter with us, and we started to sit down at the round table. She came over to tell us that we could not be seated at that table, because it was too close to the bar. This was ridiculous as we had absolutely no place to go in that entire place to wait for the 30 minutes. We ended up walking out of there are eating at an excellent restaurant down the street, dropping $250 I might add. She lost out on a nice tip. She was unfriendly and we will never try that...
Read moreI will first start by saying that Iâve had several great experiences at Archieâs at several locations including the Wallingford one which is why I am leaving 2 stars. I think the hostess need a bit more training. I was with a group of 7 this last Saturday afternoon. When I arrived the server said they had to wait for a table to clear and it would be 25 minutes.
After gladly waiting 30 minutes and seeing the table the server was referring to cleaned our group asked for an update. They then said theyâve decided not to sit 7 at the table and to break up the tables. It was going to be another 20-30 minutes because the server did not want to deal with a large table and it was getting busy.
There were no one else waiting and I asked why we couldnât sit there and the inexperienced hostess said âit wasnât my decisionâ. I then asked to speak to a manager. The hostess then proceeded to go to the bartender, tell the bartender and the server then also went to the bar irate and looking back at my group which included 4 adults and 3 children.
After waiting for a âmanagerâ for several minutes and having the hostess ignore us we decided to leave.
Very surprised and disappointed by...
