O'Brien's Pub — Restaurant in Wallingford

TL;DR: It's a wonderful local dive, that's enough. Rough edges, but friendly, comfortable, inexpensive, and you'll feel more like your at friends basement than at a fancy polished bar. So just relax and make yourself at home.

Been a few times with a friend or my wife and I always end up chatting with somebody, patrons or bartenders, every single time. Went for a karaoke night and had a blast even though I'm normally not a fan. It's very well priced, they will have something youll enjoy, and it was the cheapest Guinness in town by a long shot. Although, last I went, they took it off for the spring/summer. (-1star).

It's more Irish-ish "themed". So don't expect bangers mash, wall art from the ol' country, or a fine whiskey. But again, it's a simple local for beers it's more American staples, a local brew or two, and (sometimes) Guinness.

Alwayse shot specials, some rotating snacks, and for a very casual, relaxed time on your way home from work or a cheap night out for some beer. There is not a lot better you can get in Wallingford for...

O’Briens is a small neighborhood bar with a small neighborhood feel. The staff are all amazing, friendly and inviting as are the patrons. Ed the owner comes in and hangs out with everyone and is a very cool, down to earth guy. It’s primarily a karaoke bar 5 nights a week(Wednesday-Sunday) with two awesome karaoke hosts. Every Monday night is open mic with Davey, one of the karaoke hosts. Every other Tuesday is also open mic with Denise J.

So pretty much there’s something to do at O’Briens. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have a few drinks, sing, or play a few tunes, dance, socialize, whatever your mood is to hang at OB’s!!!

It serves a purpose. I can see the locals and regulars love this place and they were friendly and I felt safe but out of place as a first time guest.
