After playing 9 holes, my club members and I went to The Greenery for lunch. We started by ordering drinks. One person ordered a margarita with salt on the brim. It was delivered to the table without salt, so the server quickly took it back to the bar. When my friend was ready to drink it, she noticed something floating in it, so she sent it back again. Upon the second return, there was still something floating in it. The server said it appeared to be mint. The drink was a margarita, so the only way it could have had mint in it was if the shaker or glass was not clean. Strike 1. Two people at our table ordered the buffalo wings. One was tossed with buffalo sauce and the other was plain. They both said the wings were too salty, and just bad in general. The person with the tossed wings couldn't even eat the fries because they were soaked in buffalo sauce. We urged her to send the plate back but she didn't want to make a fuss. When the bill came. she told the server that she didn't like them. We asked to see the manager because it seemed that the server didn't have the authority to take care of her section and make adjustments to the bill. Strike 2 The manager, clearly annoyed, asked us in a condescending tone, "Did the server ask how the food is, and did we not tell her it was fine?" Strike 3. Honestly, we were talking during the meal and didn't remember the server checking. In any case, the food was not satisfactory. The manager, who was young enough to be one our kids, was downright unprofessional. We told her we wanted that item removed from the bill. She agreed, took the plate and left. A moment later, a member of our group noticed patrons at the bar turning around to look at us. Apparently, the manager was also the bartender and was talking about us to the other patrons. We waved to them, as if to say, "we see you and we know you're talking about us." They waved back. Bad food and bad service. We will...
Read moreGiant Date Night Review #02: My wife and I explore the local sports bars to find the perfect place to enjoy some beer and of course, to watch our Giants win some games!
We will be looking at: beer order to beer in hand time, # of taps, price, screens, atmosphere and of course... did our team win (j/k)!?
The Story: Giants vs. Marlins @ 6:05 (Saturday), Our record is back to even! With box scores in hand, we searched for a place to sit. This place has a ton of screens, many of which were playing Warriors. Our waitress followed us to a spot right in-front of the Giants' game. Service was quick and they checked on us often.
Beers on Tap: With only 6 taps, I was pretty disappointed in the choices. I went with a Fat Tire, tall (they have tall and short). It was plenty cold and tall! 2/5
Beer Order: Our beers got to us in 1:18 seconds. We have a new record! This place wasn't empty either. 5/5
Price: No happy hour on Saturdays? Well my beer was $6.00 (happy hour price is $4.25). Now, I ordered a "tall" as opposed to a "short". I'm not sure if this was larger than a "regular" beer, but it looked big to me. So bonus point. 3/5
Screens: Plenty of HD screens and all of them were pretty large. The Giants were in clear view, but because of the Warriors playoff game, we had no game audio which was a bummer. 3/5
Atmosphere: Seemed a little outdated and divey. The seating was stiff-back wooden chairs; not very comfortable. One thing was we were sitting right below the A/C and so it was cold too. 2/5
The Game: Giants' pitching was looking great until we gave up a couple runs. We decided to head out early and the Giants ended up losing 6 - 2 so now we're 1 - 1...
Read moreWe came here yesterday as my boyfriend celebrated his birthday with an early game of golf with his friends, we ended up going to the bar /restaurant post golfing to mingle, eat and drink with our friends. We’re new to concord and me and my bf have come here a few times and we love it, the vibe the food and the place in general so we were excited to celebrate with our friends. So it’s sad to say we had our first bad experience there and specifically with our server Kat. We first got there and she was not the nicest. She not only was avoiding servicing us but she kept emphasizing to us that she wouldn’t hold tables for us (place was a lil empty at the time) because she then pointed over to the swim meet next door and told us all those people were coming here, why she had to tell us that, we don’t know. We relayed the boys just finished golf and they should be here in just a bit. Which then it was still hard to get service from her so some people went to the bar to order which she then stopped me and told me no we can’t do that we can only order from our server which again she wasn’t servicing us. So we proceeded with the bar. It was unfortunate we had to complain to the manager cause come on who likes doing that, but she definitely was a damper on the celebration and on our friend’s first time there. Plus side was the server that was switched with her, I believe his name was Joseph, was awesome, super nice and attentive. Thanks Joseph we...
