I'd say two stars but......
Back when this place opened me and a buddy of mine each had what were probably the top five prime ribs we've ever had - and the fried pickles can be really good maybe half the time. Since then it's been an embarrassment. Mac and cheese is not like longhorn mac and cheese - it's 100% kraft mac and cheese out of a box. I wouldn't take anyone there that I wanted to not be embarrassed in front of. I definitely wouldn't take a family member there for mother's day or whatever.
Atmosphere at the bar looks terrible. If you want beers and TVs, go to Clyde's, it's night and day better and the staff there are awesome.
The staff here tries to be helpful but you can tell that they're just spent with people probably complaining about the slow service, that they have no control over, and they're at the mercy of the kitchen. I'm not letting all of the staff off the hook - I was there once when we went without seeing our waitress for about 30 mins and when we asked another employee we were told she was on her "smoke break". Come on. Schedule your breaks around waiting tables or arrange for coverage or don't do a service gig.
Bottom line is the food is not good. Steaks are really not good, I mean look at the junk they have on display in the case when you walk in. They're thin and maybe choice grade at best regardless of what they might tell you. I wouldn't buy them if I were in a supermarket, nevermind in a place that claims to specialize in steaks. Go make one at home, it'll be ten times better. Prime Rib is (was) the only thing worth going there for since longhorn and 99 no longer serve it but this place is consistently out of it - even on saturday nights. I've legit stood up and walked out more than a couple of times when they come back to the table and tell me they're out after I order it, I mean you're a waitress. You should know if you're out of an item on your menu the second I ask, especially one of your apparently best sellers, since you're always out of it. Here's 30 bucks for the beers and your time, we're out.
I'd say I don't know why I give it another shot over and over but it's just as bad as most of the other places on rt. 1 and I just keep remembering that one perfect prime rib years ago.

Read moreI must say I have been to Texas Road House a million times and a great experience. It was my last day with my company so my colleagues decided to take me out for dinner as a goodbye present. This is the first time we have all been to this location and we were very disappointed with the treatment we received. The waitress had an extremely bad attitude for no reason at all and we just could rap our heads around it, the waited was Ash D. We were all well over the legal drinking age and we all provided proof of that. One of the people in my party recently moved to this country and had a foreign drivers license that proved she was over the legal drinking age and they refused to give her alcohol. We spoke to the manager and she stated we cannot take foreign ID’s. Fine, we accepted although it made no sense. Every other restaurant / financial institution gave us no problem. We asked waiters several times to please clear off our table as they kept adding more food when we had no room. The waiter said they will be back and never did until we had to get up and ask someone to remove it. The final disappointment is at the end we asked for shots as a final celebration, she said ok and came back maybe 10min later and stated “unfortunately this is a family restaurant and we cannot sell you shots”. We proceeded to go to the women at the bar to see if that was true and she told us absolutely not but you do have to order it from your table as a “straight up” again makes no sense. When the waiter came back that’s exactly what we did and she rolled her eyes and walked away. We saw her speaking to the manager for about 15 minutes and we waited 25 minutes for 5 shots. This was obvious discrimination!!! We were treated so poorly from the time we walked in as professionals. I love This restaurant but will no longer attend this location and will be sure to let my company know about...
Read moreI have to be honest here. My boyfriend and I are consistent customers here at the Texas Roadhouse in Walpole to a point where most staff and servers know us as soon as we walk in the door. We always join the online waitlist and wait until we get a text message that says “please gather your party quickly…” before entering so that we are seated. Today we joined the waitlist and it said 5-15 minutes at about 7:30 on a monday night which no big deal we can wait. We got the text message to come inside to be seated almost immediately so we came inside. We checked in at the host stand and she said “it may be a little bit longer of a wait.” No worries a few minutes is not a problem. When 3-5 minutes turns into standing in the walk way with 5 other parties of people waiting to be seated for over 20 minutes. RIDICULOUS. I leaned over to my boyfriend and said “if we are not the next ones called we are leaving,” and he agreed. We drive 35-40 minutes at least twice a week and pay almost $50 (including a very generous tip) to our server and to be treated like this after working on our feet for almost 10 hours a day its just plain rude. This system is in place for a reason and if I had known that it would have been longer than 5 minutes I would have sat in my car. Continuously as we were standing there people were coming in from the online waitlist and standing in the doorway until the line was out the door. This is just unacceptable. On top of that, the service sucked as soon as we sat down. I understand its busy tonight but we were seated asked for our drink order and then asked if we needed anything else. We had asked for more bread we got our meal before she gave us the bread and we had to remind her that we wanted it but at that point there was no reason. I have been coming here for the last two years and will now be going to the Brockton location because at least they...
