Krave Creamery — Restaurant in Wapakoneta

I've been here several times, while visiting family, but I definitely won't be back. I have a dairy allergy, so I stopped in to get a vanilla scoop. I asked the cashier what DF flavors she had i believe the first was pecan and "vanilla". Well I got out to the car and found the ice cream was stretchy/gummy and a very off consistency. As someone who went to culinary school and makes her own dairy free ice cream at home, two things happened here: it melted and they refroze it or they messed up when making it and added way too much xanthan gum. I messaged them to let them know and whomever responded just said that's how it's supposed to be, as it's dole whip, but dole whip is NOT that consistency.

I will also add that I have an allergy to dairy and tree nuts and the two bites I ate gave me a HORRIBLE painful rash. Thankfully I didn't eat the whole thing or I may have needed to use my epipen and go to the ER. Not safe for true allergies...

This place is incredible, especially on a hot summer day! The family and staff are so friendly, amd have the most amazing flavors because they create all of their own flavors - like my favorite, Cookie Monster, created by the owners 8 year old daughter. This is some fantastic stuff. It really has the feel of an old-time ice cream parlor from way back. This place is amazing!! The Caramel Apple Cheesecake ice-cream is amazing and unique. Raspberry, Strawberry and the owner's little daughter curated "cookie monster" round my favorites. The extreme shakes loaded with goodies on top, was something you had to go to a big city to get until now! Their take on nachos is another great treat along with a ice-cream taco. I think future taco Tuesdays will be spent a Krave. This review is going to make me go back for a pint of Caramel...
