I wrote a review some time ago but it was removed?
The following are my reasons for giving your establishment a 1-star review:
Watching the other cooks setting up ready-to-eat plates were not wearing gloves. As someone who has worked in food services in my younger years, I found that revolting especially after someone scratched their nose.
There are two men from what I could tell have some sort of leadership position with full, dark, beards and were not wearing beard nets. Whether this is allowed or not in Hardy County, this should be something obvious that they wear. I found a couple long, thick, black strands of hair in my trout and another on the plate next to her burger.
One of the men described above was using loud profanity and made confrontational statements towards other workers. Everything was in earshot.
One of the other men described above I found it offensive that they were actively drinking alcohol during their shift.
The menu felt vague and sparse. One of my friends thought fries, chips, or something would come with her burger, as is the norm and we were told a side was an additional cost. I understand this is your choice but after leaving and discussing with others around Wardensville they felt the same.
One of the tables next to us was a minor taking orders, as in alcohol orders. It's true that she did not bring the alcohol to the table, but a minor should not make the judgment call and take the order (illegal?) especially since the couple was already intoxicated.
Your credit card system exhibits a dark pattern and predatory practice. You take "donations" but are masked to look like a traditional gratuity system. If it's such a big deal to assume fries come with a burger, e.g. something normal, then why does your payment practice follow suit? (rhetorical)
Finally,
No hot drinks, such as coffee or tea? Seating was too cramped
My other friends with me really did not feel comfortable with one of the bearded men (name overheard, sounds like or rhymes with Jimmy?). The hateful speech and profanity towards the others (servers? cooks?) seemed abusive.

Read moreWe had an absolutely delightful experience at Bingo Mack in Wardensville, WV, and we can’t recommend it enough! The hearth-fired steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and bursting with smoky flavor. The greens and carrots were fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned, showcasing the kitchen’s knack for elevating simple ingredients. But the true star of the show was the grilled sugar snap peas served on a bed of creamy ricotta cheese—sublime doesn’t even do it justice! The peas had a delightful char, and the ricotta added a rich, velvety contrast that made every bite unforgettable. The cozy atmosphere and warm service only added to the charm. Bingo Mack is a gem we’ll definitely return to for a meal that’s both comforting and extraordinary! We will be back!
Ok. Here is for round two and round three!
If you’re in the know, you already get why Mack’s Bingo Kitchen in Wardensville, WV, is special. We loved it so much we went back three times in a row. If you haven’t been, you’re in for a treat—trust us, you won’t be disappointed. This place has a warm, welcoming feel, with farm-fresh food and a cozy atmosphere that’s inviting without being pretentious. The staff are friendly and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. On our second trip, we tried the roasted beets, which were tender and earthy, paired perfectly with creamy yogurt. The sugar snap peas with lemon and ricotta were fresh and light—such a great combination. And the OG burger? Juicy, flavorful, and easily one of the best burgers we’ve had, well worth the $14 price tag. On our third visit, we went for breakfast. The quiche was fluffy and packed with fresh ingredients, and the sausage and gravy with a runny egg on top was pure comfort food, hearty and delicious. Mack’s isn’t just about great food—it’s about the experience. The Farms Work Wonders mission, with its organic produce and youth program, adds meaning to every bite. If you’re near Wardensville, make the trip. One visit might turn into three, just like...
Read moreI had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of Mack's Bingo Kitchen with my husband, and I must say it was a delightful experience. Overall I would describe it as thoughtful, approachable, and elevated.
We were greeted by a clean and welcoming ambiance. Don't miss the bathroom, where the walls are designed with bingo cards – a fun touch! The open concept setup adds a refreshing and captivating element to the dining experience. It's like watching skilled artists paint their masterpieces as the meals are expertly prepared before your eyes.
The service we received was nothing short of impeccable, yet it maintained a friendly and approachable atmosphere. The hosts welcomed us warmly with open doors, setting the tone for the evening. The waitstaff was attentive and genuinely friendly, enhancing the overall positive impression.
Now, let's talk about the food – every dish we had was outstanding. We opted for the Trout Dinner and the Local Pork Plate. To my surprise, the dumplings served with the pork were a real highlight – I couldn't get enough of them! Each dish that graced our table was a burst of freshness, brightness, and incredible flavor. The Shoofly Pie with buttermilk ice cream was an absolute dream – the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.
While some might consider the entrees a bit on the pricey side since we ordered dishes meant to be shared, each dish could easily be 2-3 meals. When you consider the quality and experience Mack's offers, it's not any more expensive than dining at other fine establishments. Mack's Bingo Kitchen has undoubtedly become our go-to place for celebrations or when we simply crave a special treat...
