v sushi — Restaurant in Warminster Township

Ok... I had to try V Sushi. I'm very fond of Asian cuisines, and V Sushi kept appearing on my Facebook feed. So, my wife and I tried it for dinner tonight.

The short version - it's good. Really good. Granted, we didn't sample too many different dishes; we split a kami roll (spicy crab, with cucumber I think). I ordered the hibachi chicken, my wife got the hibachi shrimp. All the dishes were excellent. It's tricky to get a dish like "hibachi chicken" to stand out; it's not typically an exciting Japanese entrée.

Nonetheless, the rich flavor caught me by surprise. I had asked them to bring me a small amount of sriracha (hot) sauce on the side, to fulfil my need for spice, but I found that I didn't use ask much as I thought they would. Normally, the sriracha "saves" an otherwise bland dish for me. But between the sauce in which the hibachi was cooked, and the light-colored dipping sauce they provided, I found I didn't really use much of the sriracha, which was a first for me.

Our usual go-to has been Mizu, up in Jamison. They're good - but having tried hibachi dishes in both locations, V Sushi wins, hands-down. The only catch - V Sushi has very limited seating. Aside from the sushi bar, they have a single four-person table, which we were lucky enough to get. Not good sushi. Giving 2 stars because I didn't get food poisoning. The Wasabi had no flavor or spice to it. Just green mush. The ginger had an off putting chemically after taste. The rice had zero flavor and it tasted like they took minute rice and wet it before rolling it up. The fish itself tasted fine. The seaweed On the sushi rolls tasted stale. Very unassuming strip center store front with one table and bar stools at the sushi bar. Wonderful sushi well prepared. Nice portions. My favorite roll was a specialty sashimi roll without rice.
