Yum Yum Bake Shop holds a special place in my heart. It was a rare treat when my family would travel to visit my Aunt that we would stop and get to pick up a few dozen of the best donuts one can get.
The classic interior still brings memories flooding back as I enter. It is rare that a food establishment can provide such nostalgia, but Yum Yum does it for me.
First, each donut is incredible. However, the top donuts are going to be: The Chocolate Thunder, The White Lightening, and the Cherry Bombs (both white and dark chocolate). When I come here I have to get a dozen of these for myself and the family, as people will fight over these.
Don't be afraid though to branch out and try others, as they are good as well. Those three donuts are just in another tier and deserve special mention.
Their coffee is pretty good. If you just need a box of joe for the family or work, it does its job.
The breakfast sandwiches have become a new favorite of mine. Have they upseated the WaWa sizzli though? It's a tough call. I recommend giving them a try. They can be picked up at the corner warmer when you walk in or can be requested at the front if you want a specific one not currently on the warmer.
Service is always consistent and the staff always works to move everyone through efficiently while providing food quality service. Depending on how many dozen the person in front of you orders (especially if they want to pick), expect delays and remain patient. Your turn will come.
The only warning I have is be careful at the street road location, as the turn in can be rough and parking is limited. I recommend utilizing the side street to enter, instead of trying to left turn directly in. Watch for backing up vehicles, as not everyone looks when pulling out.
Yum Yum Bake Shop is great and everyone should give...
Read moreYou need to figure out how to make the experience for the customer more pleasant. A bunch of hung-over dead eyed teenage ladies are screaming at the customers “I can help who’s next!” without even attempting eye contact. They don’t repeat the order back to you, all the customers end up screaming over each other. It’s chaotic and gives me serious anxiety. The last time I went in, a gentleman was being helped and was attempting to get the attention of the young woman handling his order. With her back towards him the other 3-4 girls could clearly see he was trying to speak with his server... and THEY ALL ignored him, didn’t have her turn around so he could communicate whatever it was he needed/wanted... I actually had to request to everyone behind the counter to get her attention so he could speak to her. Maybe you should create clear lines, or work on training your young staff to be more attentive. It also might not hurt to have the kids wear name tags (get a pack of disposable labels) so the customers can have an easier time talking their order requests...
Read moreThe Warminster Yum Yum's was outstanding! I called at 9am, during the rush of people getting their coffee & breakfast before work. I was trying to get a "Big Kahuna" for a coworkers 70th bday...for that same day..and in about 2 hours. The woman I spoke with, Jen, told me the last one that was already made was sold, but they were making more, which would be ready by the afternoon. I was bummed since I needed it much sooner. Jen put me on hold to double check the status & came back & said they could have it ready for me by 11. I was so happy. I then realized my coworker was going to be in the office sooner than anticipated & called Yum Yum's again to see if it was at all possible to get it even sooner...10:20. Jen said she was just putting the icing on & I could head over to pick it up. Thank you Jen, and Yum Yum's for helping to make our coworker's special day a little extra special! On a side note...the cinnamon pumpkin donuts...
