I just have to say it's been 20 years since I've eaten at warminster West and my first memories of warminster West had to go back to when I formed memories with my grandfather at the age of two or three my grandfather would take me there before we would go and visit his brother's farm up in Easton. My grandfather passed when I was 8 years old so those memories are pure nostalgia, so it was very heart warming to pull into the restaurant only to see the name ( and I'm not sure if the sign has been redone but I think that was the original design at least,) and instantly catapulted back in time with some of my earliest most fond memories being very happy with my grandfather. Then come to find it's everything I remember bringing nostalgia back even further, I was so happy that the wait staff was fantastic and the food flawless. Diner food falls in a category for a reason and though it doesn't escape the category it definitely rises above towards being very close to home cooked meal, warm cozy home-cooked meal that is. And now it was all too clear why it's still warminster West. I have been back three times and the last 3 months and each time had a different member of the wait staff and each time had absolutely no qualms not to mention felt as though each member in their own right absolutely deserved a $10 tip each and I never do that. Feeling no pressure whatsoever to do so it's just the service was like an old friend and of course you'd want to help your old friend out and you would never just give your old friend $2 for a two top. And it's unheard of to give $10 for a two top but got to tell you having made us genuinely laugh, instantly provided hospitality that made you feel like you are a regular and down to earth kind-hearted intelligent happy with a dash of sarcasm that I love. That instantly wins a big tip for me but not the only reason to go overboard, it was all because it was deserved not to mention my way of filling out a suggestion opinion survey if you will. Now some times the wait staff feels accepted and talks way too much which slows down everyone's service and creates a ambiance of annoying animosity to build especially if they create a scene or they are way too loud and obnoxious but I felt entertained and just as the high note of humor was reached was the point of exit stage left and I thought it was a perfect balance leaving you happy and never once thinking enough is enough and that is hospitality second to none. A lot of times you hope people pick up on body language and or subtle facial expressions and just plain old Knowing when to Walk away leaving them wanting more instead of gasping for air and wondering when you should start making strange faces to the person you came with in hopes they catch on. and that's where this description is doing the same and it's time to exit stage left LOL but they deserved a longer in depth praise for awesome food common sense and hospitality second to none. Ever want top notch diner food with a little bit of Home nostalgia there's no place...
Read moreStopped in The Warminster Diner 333 West Street Rd Warminster PA.18974 this morning. Had out of state guests so we decided for breakfast that was where we would go. What a mistake this turned into. I ordered Eggs, scrapple, toast home fries and coffee. Seems simple enough. The time was 9:30 in the morning. No crowd there. Possibly 15 - 20 people tops in the diner. Place was clean I will say that. My guests ordered French toast and eggs. What a disaster. The service from the staff was acceptable. So no fault of theirs about the food. They simply brought out what they had been given. Now, this puzzles me. How does breakfast of all things arrive COLD? Really? Scrapple when cooked properly should be extremely hot due to the density and would keep other items on the plate at least warm. My home fries was cool to the touch bordered on cold. The eggs was barely cooked. The coffee was warm at best. The plate happened to be ice cold. When serving hot food in a restaurant that is cooking 101. Everyone knows never place hot food on a cold plate. Just not at all sensible if you expect a customer to return. And how does a diner not serve hot coffee? That's a breakfast staple if ever there was one. My one guest doesn't eat pork and mentioned that to the server. They ordered turkey sausage instead. When the breakfast arrived they told her the diner was out of turkey sausage so they gave the guest pork sausage. Come on... Really ? After being told????? The food would have been delicious had it been served hot. To me that falls squarely on the shoulders of the cook. I have no doubt about that. With the difficult time most places to eat are having I would think if nothing else they would be certain the food is served fully cooked and hot. Kind of issue it's difficult to try and explain away. One might ask if I sent the food back. I would never send any food back once served for any reason. Never know what can happen. So I paid the bill and apologized to my guests for the bad experience and left the establishment. I have been to the diner many times over the years. Always had a pleasant experience. Some issues I tend to look the other way on because things can happen. Just cold food that should be hot isn't one. I don't expect perfection. My expectations are average. Simply want to get what I pay for. In this particular case that...
Read moreWe ate here once before and it was average diner food. Nothing bad and nothing over the top. Stopped for a bite because we couldn't decide on a specific food style. Ordered a dinner special called Chicken Spinicola describes that it's chicken, mushroom, spinach, sauce, and cheese. The dinner special menu said dinners came with two sides and a salad or soup. Ordered the meal without cheese. When it came to the table, it was swimming and grey with rectangles of green floating in it and two squares of cheese. It looked like a soup. I sent it back and tried to order a ham and cheese omelet. The waitress said she would take it back and have them remove the sauce. She said she couldn't just take it back and order something new because "there was nothing wrong with it." She brought it back to the table drained, and I just refused it with the excuse it was "greasy." The waitress took the $17.99 for the special off the bill but turned around and charged $4.29 for the side salad (lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber, 2 tomatoes, and a handful of croutons). Charged $2.99 for the side of beets and another $2.99 for the side of asparagus. Had one bit of the asparagus that was boiled so much it was slimy. I did eat most of the salad and took the beets to go, but I've never experienced a restaurant removing the entree and then turning around and charging for the sides. At no time did the manager come to the table. The woman at the register asked if everything was ok. When I summarized the above, she said I should have asked for the manager because she couldn't help me. At this point, I was done and just wanted out. Is this place so bad that when a customer turns an entree away and refuses to order a new meal, the manager doesn't come over instinctively?
Drive down the road a little further for a WAY...
