We have always liked Kin.D96. For the last several visits, to go orders, and even delivery through 3rd party apps we have always been impressed.
Not yesterday. After a full day across the street at the water park with friends we decided to make an online order and grab food to take home. Our total was $91.49. This is important later.
When we got home we promptly served our nearly 2 year old his noodles and got our meals ready to eat. That is until he stopped eating and started saying "uhoh" and "ouch". I put my hand to his mouth and was shocked when he spit out a half inch long piece of metal shaving resembling steel wool. We promptly packed up dinner and I made a call to the restaurant, because while our baby spit out the metal, someone else's may not and that very well could cause serious damage to a tiny digestive system. The manager apologized profusely and offered a free noodle meal, then changed course and said he would be voiding our ticket.
This is where the ticket price comes in. After checking my account this morning, I found not only was I not charged the $91.49 shown on the reciept (which showed an included tip), but rather $106.88. I was also refunded a whopping total of $41.07.
I am not writing this negative recommendation for the management staff, but rather as a heads up to potential diners. By dining here you would not only be at risk of finding metal in you or your children's food, but also being inappropriately charged and refunded if something of that nature were to happen.
I am sad to say we will not feel confident in eating the food or opening our wallets near Kin.D96 any time...
Read moreWe have eaten here many times and it is always good. Prices are on the high side. The staff is friendly and the waitress Heidi is sweet. The restaurant is clean but can be on the cool side. They have beer, Sake, Thai coffee and tea.
The sushi is fresh and some of the best around town. We always order Pad Thai and Pineapple fried rice. Coming from Michigan where there are some fantastic Thai restaurants, this Pad Thai is pretty close but I don’t ever see peanuts on it and not many bean sprouts. The Pineapple fried rice, even though it can be a little inconsistent, I always order it. Sometimes you get a lot of pineapple and cashews and other times not much at all and last time I didn’t get any cashews on my carry out . I would recommend they add a bit of pineapple juice in the dish for additional flavor. I added photos of both dishes ordered on different days.
The ginger salad is good for a small side salad. The soups: Coconut soup - Ok Hot and sour soup - good Egg drop soup - good. Better if they had the fried wontons for it.
I posted two different pics of the same order to show comparison of different visits.
Parking can be tight and sometimes there is a wait to be...
Read moreWe had a group of three people, and I ordered the Lobster larva, which was quite an expensive dish. After 15 minutes, Sever, the server, brought two main courses to my friends first and informed me that my food would be ready in a few more minutes. But I waited patiently, only to be left waiting for what seemed like an eternity.
My friends finished half of their dishes and I still never received my food. I politely declined the food. Sever even went as far as to ask if I wanted it for to go, which was an insulting suggestion considering that I had specifically come to dine in.
The food was not read, and I didn’t want to waste my time waiting for it to be prepared for takeout. I had come to enjoy a meal in person, not have to rush through it.
Here are some suggestions for improvement:
Clearly inform customers about the expected wait time for their orders. Bring all dishes out at once so that everyone can enjoy their meal together.
Unfortunately, none of these suggestions were implemented during my visit, and the experience was simply unacceptable. I will never be returning to...
