VERY DISAPPOINTING !
We were really hoping to experience the authentic taste of Bengali food like we get in New York City. Unfortunately, the restaurant fell short right from the start.
Over the past few days, we tried several dishes like Rice, Palong Shak, Beef Tehari, Chicken Tehari, and Beef Curry and sadly, none of them were enjoyable.
Our Observations
The taste of the food is nowhere close to what you’d find in Bangladeshi restaurants in New York.
The dishes seem old and not fresh, similar to what happens in some typical Bangladeshi restaurants that cook everything on Friday or the weekend and then sell it throughout the week.
No salads are served with any dishes, especially with Tehari, which is quite disappointing.
Charging $4 for a single vorta is quite high and feels unreasonable.
Suggestions
There’s a strong demand for authentic Bangladeshi food in Michigan, which is currently unavailable. To meet that demand, we strongly recommend hiring an experienced cook, ideally someone who has worked at a reputable Bangladeshi restaurant in New York, particularly in Jackson Heights.
Also, please make sure not to serve old or unfresh food under any circumstances. This can seriously damage your reputation over time, reduce customer demand, and eventually even lead to the restaurant shutting down which we definitely don’t want to see happen.
Hope the management will review this feedback carefully and make the needed...

Their food (and/or groceries) are always fresh and full of flavor — you can really taste the quality. The staff go above and beyond to make sure every customer feels valued and satisfied. It’s rare to find a place that combines great service, cultural warmth, and excellent quality like Al Aqsa does.

Read moreThe food was kinda blend. I had the beef biryani. The beef meat pieces had a significant amount of fat still attached. Its nothing to really go out of your way for. I went there for Tehari and to my surprise they ran out and it was only like 3:45 pm. When I inquired about if more would be available they said no done for the day. You can't really compare this to NYC at all the way it is being advertise.
Update: I tried their kachi biryani. The flavor profile was okay but the potato was hard as a rock. Also the samosa filing had too much onions tasted sweet. The kolija samosa was filled with potato and only two piece of kolija. Very...
