Been wanting to come here for some time but something always came up were I couldn't. Well I was able to and I have to say the food was fabulous. Delicious, full of flavor, juicy, warm..definitely worth the trip and price. Was greeted by Anyia (I might be a little off on the spelling) nice young woman. She promptly took my order and stated if I had any questions to go ahead and ask her and she would be happy to answer any questions I might have and offered me chips and salsa as I waited for my meal.
Currently they have dine-in and carryout to accommodate one's schedule. Atmosphere is also great. Small restaurant but does have 5 tables where one can sit. Some tables can handle up to 7 people.
It's an order at the counter and they will bring it our to your table. Soft drinks are bottle or cans (Coke and Pepsi products) plus coffee or water.
Several variety of sauces to try on your tacos or burritos. I picked the TK Tacos dinner (pictured) which came with my choice of two sides, which I chose rice and refried beans which came topped with cheese.. All the food was excellent and highly recommend coming here. They are the new kids in town (only opened up 7 weeks ago) so show them some love and patronize their establishment you won't be sorry.
They are located just West of Hoover and on the South side of 12 Mile Rd in a small little place next to a Thai Food restaurant.
Please show this restaurant some love. They are really great people and awesome food. On a Saturday night hardly anybody was in the restaurant eating.
8/5/23 Second time here and they did not disappoint!
This time I had my father with me who is somewhat of a picky eater and hard to please.
We walked to counter where we were greeted by Madison. A delightful young woman with a great smile. She took our order and we went to sit down. In no time we had our chips and salsa and it wasn't long before we had our meals.
I choose to have the 3 tacos with beef with lettuce and tomato with two sides. Pinto Beans with Mexican cheese and Spanish Rice and dad had the Chicken Burrito which came stuff with Pinto Beans, corn, cheese and chunk chicken. Both dishes were warm and we were delighted by both. The food was warm and tasty. Actually dad who cannot eat a lot finished his burrito.
Service was excellent as I expected it would be. Madison was new and knocked it out of the park as well as the manager on duty did also.
Highly recommend coming here and show...

To put it simply, the food was below average. I could have went to the grocery store and cooked the food at a higher quality ground beef due to how much grease was dripping. Even Taco Bell tasted better and had less of a mess. I expected the food to have a much higher quality judging by the prices and pictures compared to other local restaurants, but I was wrong, it was as basic as it could get.
Context: I ordered a Taco Dinner with Spanish rice and refried beans. I thought it was a simple order first time eating there, nothing could go wrong. The taste of the ground beef had no spice other than what possibly could have been taco seasoning, followed by shredded iceberg lettuce and some cheese (I hope it was not pre shredded). The rice tasted old, like smelling old and dusty wood from an attic, and the refried beans was okay, and I hope it was not canned. The chips and salsa was fine, but the salsa was supposed to be spicy but it tasted sweeter than expected with no spice.
Here are the positives: The service was very friendly, considerate and fast, but I wish the service was just as good as the food for the price. The vibe of the restaurant was rather nice, and I was actually excited to try the food with the vast collection of hot sauces.
I wish I did not have to write this review, but considering the amount of positive feedback Taco Kings get, I had to speak about my criticisms. Overall the service was great, but I was immensely disappointed with this basic grocery store style of food. I was in the mood to experiment with a different local restaurant but it looks like I hit a low roll. There are plenty of other Mexican and Mexican style restaurants around the local area that can easily beat this restaurant, especially for the price cause that is what got me the most disappointed. I do not mean this restaurant ill will, I hope staff could recognize this criticism and hope they would...
Read moreThis is the only place I know of near me that has birria, and I really enjoyed it. As a newer business, the employees are really working hard to make this place successful. As just some random reviewer, I don't expect anyone to take to heart the 2 suggestions I am about to make but it's worth a shot. The idea of a Hispanic inspired pasta salad is brilliant! And it is so close to being your best side dish. However, I have found that the ratio of beans to pasta leans too heavily towards beans. You use kidney and black beans, and I think that you could cut the amount of them in half. I don't know if you do this because it keeps the cost down? But if there were less beans and more noodles I would get this pasta salad way more often. I wish that the fajita peppers and onions that come on your quesadillas weren't so mushy and had a slight crunch to them still. The water that comes out of the veggies tends to make the quesadillas soggy. Again, I don't want to act like I know what I am doing and you may have perfect reasons for doing things the way you do. But if anyone else reads this and agrees, give this review a thumbs up or whatever. I don't really know how this review stuff works. I just like this place and want to see it be successful. Also, all of the different hot sauces are AWESOME!
Update 9/13: Thank you so much for listening to my suggestion! The new ratio on the pasta salad is PERFECT. I always order it as both of my sides with the birria taco dinner. Hopefully other people agree with me and think it is a...
