Having visited Wicked Warrens twice now, here are my takeaways:
Food: the Beer Cheese pizza I had was delicious! Drink: the beverages we purchased were great, and were a big part of what brought us back for a second visit. The “Vibe”: awesome. Great styling from floor to ceiling. Comfortable seating at solid wood tables that don’t wobble. The Service: oh dear. This is where we part ways. Like I mentioned, I’ve visited twice. The server / bar staff on our first visit seemed a little “off”. There was an awkwardness in the air, as if the whole crew had just been delivered horrible news and wanted to be anywhere but serving us at that moment. But that was quickly overshadowed by the great food and drink. On to our second visit, a couple months later, we walked through the door to see the same server on shift that day. Within 5 minutes we were walking back out the front door, likely to never return. Almost in rapid-fire succession, the server did an excellent job of making us feel unwelcome. I will not elaborate on exactly what happened, because frankly that doesn’t matter. Being a small business owner myself I understand how first impressions and customer service are a vital part of turning first-time customers into return customers. I don’t really know what was/is wrong with the staffing culture at Wicked Warrens, but I can imagine I’m not the only customer to walk away with this experience. I have zero interest in bus-tossing or giving a derogatory account of what went wrong on our second visit. I only hope the owners take my account, even with a grain of salt, and consider how their wait-staff are treating their...
Read moreI will say I have not tried the Jamestown one yet. We have been to the one in Warren twice once for lunch and once for dinner. When we went for lunch I was with 3 of my kids (16, 9 and 2). We ordered their garlic knots and pizza chips for an appetizer. Garlic knots were good, all the kids liked them. The pizza chips are very, very salty. We couldn’t even eat them. I think it’s just what they are made out of. It’s cheeses melted for the crust. I ordered a salad which was pretty sad. It was just some baby spinach mixed with a little iceberg. A few cherry tomatoes and bagged shredded cheddar cheese. My three kids got panuzzos, Philly cheesesteak and turkey. Those were also very good. The bread was a little crunchy, but as expected from the fire oven with a little charred taste. I ended up eating some of theirs because my salad was awful. The service we had was also great.
The second time we went for dinner it was trivia night. We did not play trivia decided to order their pizzas this time. We got 3 different pizzas which all tasted great. They have a thin crust that’s very crunchy (wood fire oven) I like that personally so it was win. However the service was horrible! Felt like we were a bother to our waitress too. It literally took over a half hour to take our drink order. It was busy but there were still open tables, so not that busy. We all felt like we were being ignored. It was so bad the waitress on the other side came over without us asking to provide service like refills bring us our check. I truly hope the one in Jamestown is better than the...
Read moreSure smelled like something wicked in here, and not in a good way.
Went here for lunch with two coworkers, first step in the door was a smell like someone had vomited in the corner for the past year without it being cleaned up.
Menu had mostly pork related items on various flatbread, which I avoid in any establishment that has any hint of being below my own hygienic standards at home. Asked for an unsweetened beverage (iced tea) they don't have any. Then asked for a cup of coffee, the server told me I could leave and go around the corner to the Cafe, or she could bring me a glass of water. When I asked her to clarify if this was spring water or from the tap, she told me she would serve me tap water in a somewhat rude fashion.
Probably not the best place to go for lunch if you like having clear arteries, or eating balanced meals.
So I took the servers advice and left, a couple doors down you will find NY pizza & subs who had decent food, and the place didn't smell like vomit which...
