I wish google gave the ability to do half stars, as although I would give it an actual 3.5, I rounded down to a 3 stars. This is based off the stars I gave each dish, divided by the 6 dishes - this gave it a 3.41 stars. I just want to provide some honest feedback based on my first experience - let me preface this by also saying I will try it again. I'm going to rank the meals from my least favorite to most. Again, I will try again and DO recommend this place!
Chicken Caesar Pasta - 1.5 Stars. Dry and bland. Chicken was dry, pasta was dry and it was pretty flavorless even with the addition of bacon. To actually get some moisture in it I had to add a bunch of lemon juice along with salt, pepper, a little garlic powder and some red pepper flake just to get any taste. The only upside was a good portion of chicken.
Farmhouse Omelette - 2.5 stars. Taste was not bad, pretty average, but the meat itself was, again, very dry. Potatoes were fine. I had to added quite a bit of green hot sauce just to get the meat moist enough to enjoy eating. Again, upside was a healthy portion of meat in the omelette.
Swedish Meatballs - 3 stars. Meatballs were not bad - a bit dense for my liking and could have used more seasoning. I know this is health conscious food, but please, a bit more salt and pepper. The green beans were literally just boiled green beans with no seasoning whatsoever on them. They were really fresh still, which was good, but I had to add my own seasoning here and I'm not even a big salt guy. But just the right amount goes a long way. Also, 3 meatballs didn't really cut it since they were pretty small - I understand the concept of portion size here but adding another wouldn't hurt for sure.
Nashville Chicken - 3.5 stars. Chicken was good and a good, had a good portion and the sauce was good. Mac and cheese could have been a bit cheesier and added a bit more salt. I'd say if it's breaded chicken, then maybe put sauce in a container on the side so it doesn't make the breading soggy. Maybe an alternative would be to use grilled chicken - I think that would go a long way to making this a 4 star+ meal.
Brisket with Hush Puppies and Corn - 5 stars. Delicious. The meat was very tender and the sauce was really good. Hush puppies were also good and flavorful. No critiques here.
Marinated Sirloin Medallions w/ Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus - 5+ Stars. This was my favorite by far - I could have eaten it 5 times last week and been satisfied each time. The steak was VERY good - very tender and the sauce was excellent. I mixed the mashed potatoes with the sauce and it was great - only minor critique is I wish there were more potatoes! Asparagus was fine - I personally flash cook my asparagus and like more of the crunch texture to it. I get you can't quite do that for a meal plan like this, so it did the trick. It definitely didn't detract from the meal. This was really good.
Overall, I think it was good and, like I said, I'll try it again. Overall I think the 2 issues I had were just lack of seasoning as well as dry meat on a few dishes. I know the salt thing can be hit or miss for some people and some will argue to just season it to your taste at home - I don't disagree with that necessarily, especially for more health oriented food; however, I'd still prefer to have to not season as heavily myself as I did for some of these dishes. Overall,...
Read moreTried out this place for lunch today and it was great. I built my own large bowl (brown rice, salmon, spinach, green peppers, beans & corn). I dinned it & I found it very tasty, plus they had great customer service.
I went back after work and found that the experience you have here depends on who’s on staff. I ordered 2 large bowls, & 2 flatbreads to go. The bowls were much smaller than the last large bowl I ordered that contained the same exact ingredients. I’m assuming they gave me small/medium bowls instead of the large bowls I ordered. I called and got not so great customer service. To make matters worse, I found a thin brown strand of hair toasted to my flatbread halfway through eating it. Super gross.
Was seriously considering meal planning with them but considering the portion size inconsistency + the hair, I think I’ll pass. Giving them a 3 because the food was still pretty tasty, just wish I had a...
Read moreI was super excited to try this place.. however, sadly I will not be returning. I had a customized bowl with chicken, potatoes, carrots, asparagus, bacon, cheese, onion and chipotle ranch. The carrots were not cooked throughly, they were still crunchy in the middle, there was maybe 4 small pieces of bacon (that cost a $1 more to add), the cheese was LITERALLY a square piece of cheese melted on top and the onions tasted old/mushy. I also ordered the apples and peanut butter and I was expecting to have an entire cut up apple, but it was 4 slices.. enough for a toddler lol. I was pretty bummed about the experience.. it was not great. I like the idea of this establishment, but the freshness wasn’t there and the...
