Compass Coffee — Restaurant in Washington

In town for a conference, decided to grab a quick coffee before heading over. Guy at the register was very nice. I did get my coffee order in a timely manner; the latte was good. I should have known something was up when I didn’t get my breakfast sandwich at the same time but figured it might take a bit longer. After waiting for some time, I was getting ready to enquire when the young lady preparing the food/drinks stepped out from behind the counter to make her own snack purchase. When she was back behind the counter, I asked about my order, and it was confirmed to have either been forgotten or overlooked. By her demeanor/response, she seemed to perhaps take some offense to me (politely) asking how long it would take to prepare at that point—I was trying to make it to my next conference session. When my order came out within a minute or so of being nuked in the oven, she was wordlessly handed over to me, no acknowledgment, apologies or anything. Left a bad taste in my mouth, especially considering my patience with the situation and the relative expense of the purchase (about 13 dollars for a medium latte and a preprepared...

I come to Compass weekly. The coffee is great and worth the price. The service is always exceptional...except for Sunday November 12th. I arrived around 10:00 AM and the shop was packed, long line...not a problem. However the Barista I had never seen before but "she" was rude to everyone, perhaps the most unpleasant person I have ever met. My oat latte was $8.00 and was horrible for the first time. You might want to rethink having this person represent your great company. One lady came to ask the status of her drink, the barista locked her angry eyes on her and said "I haven't gotten to it yet." I felt bad for the lady and owners of Compass as a great business reputation can be destroyed by one unhappy person who clearly did not want...

My caramel cold brew had congealed caramel in the bottom which didn’t mix in despite thorough shaking. I took a sip and got a mouthful of the jelly-like caramel. When I brought this to the attention of the barista they were kind but just added more caramel syrup and scooped out the congealed caramel from the bottom before stirring again.
