Where do I begin on the horrible service? I hate to do this because it is a black business, and I love supporting them.
I placed an order for my birthday for a crab boil feast I was having with my family. The lack of accountability, professionalism, ownership, and service was a complete shock and disappointment. I could have ordered from the regular crab spot my family has frequented for decades, but I wanted to support a black business. I am learning that not all businesses are good; stick with what you know. These people played in my face. I ordered nine dozen mix for my birthday party. They offered to deliver, and I asked multiple questions before ordering as I had no issues picking up because I live a way out. I was told it was ok. I should have known the issues I ran into when I got the run around trying to place my order three days in advance. It was a huge Red flag. I should have stopped and not ordered.
The Situation:
On the day of my birthday, my order was 3 1/2 hours late. I continued to text and call the number I placed my order through, but no one responded. The moment I stated that I was going to drive down to the location, I got a response from someone on the other end telling me that the driver was on the way. The driver showed up 45 minutes later and quickly handed me the crabs. The crabs were cold and were all females. Half of my family had left. They had put money in on the crabs and didn't get any crabs. While my other family members laid them out and ate, I looked at the crabs. All the crabs were tiny and all females, so I ordered a mix of males and females.
Once I noticed the order was incorrect, I called the number I placed it with, but they didn’t answer. I called it multiple times, and then, finally, someone responded. I explained what had happened and why I was beyond mad. The gentleman I spoke to was supposedly “The Owner,” he tried his hardest to talk in circles to confuse me. I told him not to do that, that I was not slow, and I repeated everything to him. I told him what I ordered. He then tells it how it was my problem and that he did not order enough crabs and didn’t expect to have the amount of service he had on said date. It's the craziest thing I ever heard. It sounds like better preparation on business and inventory needs to be had. I have 12+ years in management. Hell, hire me because clearly, this isn't his strong suit. He told me I should be happy with what I got and offered to give me ten crabs out of the nine dozen I paid for, but I said absolutely not.
At that time, a lady in the background asks who he is talking to. She then got on the phone and stated she was the manager. I explained my situation, and then she said she understood my upset. I asked for a refund. I was told they could not refund me but would compensate me for the crabs and give me 15. I said absolutely not; I just paid for nine dozen. We agree to a bs amount of male crabs to compensate their mess up. I agreed to pick up my crabs at the end of the week. I get to DC, parking is horrible. I get inside and speak to the front desk receptionist.
No one knows what I’m talking about. I’m being stared at like I’m crazy. I’m keeping my cool. I ask to speak to the female manager and the young lady at the door said there isn’t one. There was a lady at the bar who had been staring at me for about 10 minutes never said anything to me and then walks up to me after hearing me say I was going to call the number I had. She introduced herself, telling me that there wasn’t a person that I spoke to that day. I told her the name which I got wrong, and she said oh, you spoke to me—playing in my face. At this point don’t order from this place. They just take your money. Food is subpar and service is horrible. You can make better food at home. All they worried about is money and nothing else. This isn't their lane I am sorry to say and I want everyone to win but you will never get far off...

Last night was my first and last time visiting. My partner and I got the Ruff & Ready Eggrolls as an appetizer, Delicious but SMALL!!! For $18 the 2 eggrolls was literally smaller than the Carryout by my house, and cutting them in half to make 4 bite sized egg roll pieces was worse. Next, me and my partner both got the $40 Treasure Boil. It comes with one cluster of crab legs, half a pound of shrimp, half a pound of sausage, one corn, one potato & one egg. My partner’s came out first since he ordered a few minutes before me. First thing I notice is his “boil” was SMALL and missing the egg so we mention it to the waitress, she says she’ll be right back with it. Literally 10 minutes go by because I was watching my time waitinggggg for my food so me and my man can eat together per usual. Well my food didn’t come out after 10 minutes so he started eating since his food was now getting colder (no plastic steam bag at all, seafood just out on paper and platter so it’s doesn’t come out steamy or stay hot like a usual boil). My bf moves his crab and I’m like “1,2,3,4… you only have 4 shrimp in your boil” he said yes he noticed. Waitress didn’t bring no napkins or come back to check up within that 10 minutes or the extra 5 minutes he’s now been eating so I had to get up and go get him napkins. I see our waitress at the bar sitting& talking, I ask her for napkins, she gives them && ask me did my food come out and I say no. She goes to check on the food, I go back to my table. After about another 5 minutes my food comes out from a host or runner and my man has ate all his food now (it’s been about 20-25 min since he initially got his food) I mention to the runner who brought the food my partner’s boiled egg never came in the boil or after like promised. The runner brings the egg out 2 minutes later finallyyyy after my man has no food left :) I bite into the egg (I took his egg) and first thing I do is spite it out…IT TASTE OLDDDDD!! I train in the gym so sometimes I boil my eggs the night before and reheat in morning for an early gym session…that’s what the egg taste like, literally when I boil them the night before and reheat next day when I go to the gym…like an OLD BOILED EGG THAT’S BEEN REHEATED! The egg that came in my boil taste fine but his egg that was brought solo was definitely old , as someone who eats boiled eggs everyday for the gym THAT EGG WAS NOT BOILED FRESH!!!!!
Lastly, as shown in picture is my boil that came out late. The picture was taken at 9:21pm as soon as it hit the table, I did NOT eat anything before picture. So, as advertised on the menu for the Treasure Boil, it’s supposed to come with half a pound of shrimp and half a pound of sausage… 8 OUNCES IS HALF A POUND. As shown in picture I literally received 3 pieces of sausage and 5 shrimp…NEITHER WAS 8 OUNCES WHICH IS 1/2 POUND. As someone who buys a seafood boil everyy week from different places, THIS THE ONLY PLACE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED THIS. I have never had hook and reel, crafty crab, twisted crab, urban crab, etc ….none of the lots of seafood boil places I visit daily SCAM ME with 3 SAUSAGE AND 5 SHRIMP AS 1/2 POUND. REMEMBER IN THE BEGINNING HOW I MENTIONED MY PARTNER BOIL HAD 4 SHRIMP, WAS SMALLLLLL…YEA HIS LITERALLY LOOKED THE SAME AS MINE IN ATTACHED PICTURE! And from looking at the reviews, it doesn’t look like anyone ever receives a half a pound of shrimp or sausage.

Read moreI been waiting since Saturday night (Today is Monday )for 4 orders of egg rolls that I paid cash for and did not receive a receipt let’s start there! While there waiting over 1hr for 4 orders of egg rolls they tell us that they can not fulfill our orders because the chef and waitress got into an argument over wait times for customers so the chef left the kitchen for about 20 mins I guess to go smoke when he came back they only gave us one order and told us to come back tomorrow which was Sunday and we could get whatever we want on top of our 3 egg roll orders he owed his name was will we were not able to be refunded because the manager Antonio was not on site and they do not issue refunds even tho we paid cash with no receipt given. On Sunday when we tried to get the egg rolls they told us they were only doing brunch and to come back today Monday instead. The guy will was not there however Antonio the manager was he told me that due to his restaurant, being really crowded our 4 orders of egg rolls that we were owed and promised could not be fulfilled because it would back up his Kitchen so we asked for a refund the refund was denied. He also asked if he could just give us two orders today and then we come back on another day to get the other two because again it will back his kitchen up because the restaurant is currently really crowded. We said no we would like our refund or we would like our food. He then says he has to verify with the guy will to make sure that we actually had a order of four eggrolls. He was unable to get in touch with Will and then decided that he will make our eggrolls and they were ready in about 20 minutes. Get home to look at them. They’re burnt and ever made them did not make them with love it. Definitely taste like a different ingredient from what we taste it on Saturday. Today we he did give us 4 orders instead of the 3 that were owed but nothing more for the inconvenience and unprofessionalism of himself...
