Crown Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Washington

This is without a doubt the worst fried chicken I have ever had. I went to the store 2 days ago because it is at the same shopping center as my local dry cleaners. I waited for 5 minutes but no one came to the register. They only had chicken wings in the food warmer thing. Today, I went to pick up my clothes from the dry cleaners and thought to try them out again. Again, they only had chicken wings ready in the food warmer. The guy at the register told me it would be 10-15 minutes if I wanted chicken thighs. I said ok and decided to wait because I thought that meant the chicken would be fresh. Their chicken is definitely not fresh, the bones have turned a dark color, and the meat closest to the bones has turned dark too. It is so disgusting to think that I ate half of my meal before taking a closer look. In the end I had trash the rest of my meal because I was so uncomfortable eating food that clearly should not be served. I think they have precooked chicken that they keep for days on end, and then throw it into the fryer when an order is made. The restaurant was empty most of the time while I was there, apart from one young lady who came in to order. I ordered just mild thighs, lemon cake and an ice tea. The cake was very fresh and delicious. I would have bought two slices had I known. The ice tea that was made in-house was waaaaaaaay too sweet and they ran out half way through pouring it in my cup.

The chicken...tasted like death itself. I honestly don't know if that was chicken I took a bite of...seriously! The taste lingered in my soul for half an hour and I spit it out after one chew. If I hadn't already taken it home I would have taken it back. I would not order from there again as long as Earth spins on its axis. I would rather take my chances with Popeyes and their rat colony. Maybe they had a terrible day, because I don't know how they could stay in business with food that tastes like that, but I just know I'm not going back there unless I'm the Uber driver for the DC...

I love your maryland and other dc locations. This one was horrible. Several dark meat pieces tasted horrible as you ate the actual meat. Skin seasoning hid the bad taste. Two thighs were retarded and had a little leg attached. The mac and cheese (i ordered three) were absolutely terrible. Overcooked, no salt, no creaminess. I would say better luck next time but there wont be a next time for me at this location. I dont waste my money and time twice. I even gave tip, i had no idea it was going to be this bad. Update: i heated what was left over the next day in my airfryer. The meat smelled like weeks old urine. I had to throw several pieces away. My money was not as useless as the food or foul smelling.
