Positive Feedback:
The bakery staff were extremely helpful and kind when assisting my mom and me in selecting the perfect cake for my little brother’s birthday. The pickup process was also very easy and straightforward, with no issues at all.
Negative Feedback:
However, our experience in the carry-out section was disappointing. Although Spanish isn’t our first language, we can speak it a bit and read it quite well. When we decided to order a light meal—just two empanadas and 2 sides of rice and one Pupusa for almost 23 dollars—we noticed we were overcharged by an extra $10. The meal we ordered clearly cost less than the price we were charged.
A woman with red hair came from the back, took the plate from her coworker, and proceeded to overcharge us, seemingly because we spoke English. This is a predominantly Spanish-speaking establishment, but there are some English speakers as well. It felt unfair and unwelcoming to be treated this way just because we weren’t fluent in Spanish. Also it was weird to be treated wonderfully, then treated horribly in the same establishment.
While the bakery itself was wonderful, I wouldn’t return to the carry-out section. Overcharging customers because they speak English is not acceptable, and it drives away people who want to appreciate and experience other cultures. I hope this behavior changes so that everyone can feel welcomed and valued. God bless you!
*Just a friendly reminder about the following issue: We did not order a side of beans or plantains as we had previously explained. Furthermore, both servings of rice were the same size (medium). We took photos of our orders on the day of purchase as we are food enthusiasts and were excited to try something new. Nevertheless, it's disappointing. Despite this, the establishment still charged us. We have no intention of returning.

Read moreThis was such a lucky find! I took a chance using a Too Good to Go and bought a birthday cake for my son. It was so fresh and delicious! I was worried when I pulled into shopping center because it’s in an industrial area, next to a Uhaul place. But when I walked up, the outside sidewalk was decorated with two huge teddy bears at a tea table sharing a pastry. It gave me a good feeling about the shop that the owner went to the trouble to make a cute display. And inside, the bakery is spotless. My Spanish is rusty, but the staff spoke enough English I had no problems. They also have a little hot food case and I bought a delicious vegetarian tamale and coffee to m, which were inexpensive, very filling, and really tasty. I will...
