The cashiers and staff are nice enough. I like the bakery products, although could be stocked better and cleaned up. Like other customers, I'm concerned about the seafood department. My husband and I had the unfortunate experience of returning bad salmon that I paid over 17 dollars for. I don't have much experience buying fish and was naive and trusted the fish was fresh and did not initially check. Upon closer inspection when I got home, the fish was darker and rough on top and slimy on the inside. It smelled strange too. I'm glad I had the sense to ask my husband if it was fresh before I put in the oven. He was not happy. We just moved to the area, never thought I had to check the produce to make sure it was fresh. I'm glad we are fine and well.
Update on my review: Don't judge a book by it's cover, in this case the grocery store. Having now shopped here for years, I've come to notice this is an underrated grocery store. No rif-raf, just honest hardworking people and their families quietly shopping. The produce looks better. Fruits and vegetables are still a bit pricey, but the dairy, dry and canned foods are very affordable...

$0.13 isn't a big deal unless it's potential scamners which has happened in two different states reason for confirmation of transaction needed for peace of mind. I couldn't recall what I had spent that cost $0.13 (especially with no receipt)
Resolution: I had spoken to the what I was told the Store Manager Alex. He needed receipt which I did have but was mixed with my other receipt for date/time/ & cashiers name was needed. I given him the exact date & time I was there. After a few return calls back he stated it could have been the purchase of store bag which are $0.13.
Reason for this review, as a Traveller I've had scammers add tip, or "test" my card to see how much can be withdrawn or use.
I appreciate Señor Alex for this patience, professionalism & empathy for saving me time of confirning the transaction. I will definitely continue to shop at this place (even though I live in DC), knowing that folks like him work there.
It is what it is, but it is how you handle things that make...
Read moreCome here a lot, and if you frequent this store, some employees are bound to recognize you which is pretty sweet. Employees have always been super helpful, super nice and friendly except for that one rare moment but I understand that sometimes we can be a little tired.
I only took a star off because of how expensive certain things can be... like bread. I thought a loaf of bread would be a dollar maybe up to two or three dollars.. no. I grabbed two loafs of bread and with six dollars in my pocket I had from spare dollars. (maybe she had scanned them wrong cuz it had never been so bad..)
My two loafs of break were 8 dollars? Ugh, I raised my eyebrows so high, I think I got permanent wrinkles from the expression but anyways, Sometimes are just so expensive compared to other stores. I'd come here for the meats and only the meats of you're planning a cookout or some sort...
