I’ve been a regular at Dannie’s Chinese Takeout on Upsher St., and it’s always a solid choice when I’m craving Chinese food. They offer the typical Chinese takeout menu, and I almost always go for the General Tso Chicken Dinner Combo, which is consistently good. The prices are reasonable, making it a great value.
While there’s a very small seating area in the restaurant, it’s rarely used for dining in – most people, including myself, grab their takeout and go. The food is tasty, though not anything to write home about. It’s the kind of place where you know you’ll get a satisfying meal, but it’s not exactly gourmet. But this place serves “old” fries and re-cooks them. They forgot something I asked for three times when I placed the order.
This newer generation of Chinese restaurateurs cook Chinese food with no flavor, sub-par service and a whole lot of excuses!
Smh. I’m from a family of chefs- my mother and sister stopped eating from Chinese restaurants a long time ago! They don’t respect those of us that keeps them in business. And this time I am...
