Best Halal Food in DC!!!
Loved the flavor, it was melting in my mouth, everyone was very friendly and helpful, all positive energy.
We ordered Lamb & Chicken over rice, combo gyro, for this one the owner told us is the Pakistani way and I can’t say enough about the flavor, the spices made it so good, this will take you out of this world, cheese steak was even bette Ethan Philly ones and I love those but no anymore, one of my girls ate nuggets and she said those were the best nuggets she ever tried. PLUS their DC Bites special sauce was the last touch to the meal. Prices were great, and portions were very good and they have kids menu too so it was a big plus specially for picky eaters that love only nuggets or stuff like that.
I can’t say enough about DC bites, I had try Halal food before but nothing comparing to these, I’m Latina and I know about flavor and I didn’t expect such a wonderful food, owner was so nice and let me try their Pakistani Tea and even my daughter loved it, it was very good.
I really recommend this restaurant, another plus is that is steps away from the Zoo/Adams Morgan Metro Station, schedule is great since they open until late so is very convenient.
We will comeback again and tell friends about DC Bites!
Update!!!
I came back couple of times since my kids loved the food and requested to go back, every time great food and great costumer service plus they didn’t hesitated to make a special request I made.
Always a pleasure...
Read moreI usually don’t leave reviews, but I felt I had to share what happened. I visited this restaurant after seeing a lot of five star reviews online. But honestly, the reviews seem really fishy. The place has only been open for two weeks, yet it already has so many perfect reviews. That just doesn’t feel right.
When I got my food, it looked okay at first, but while eating, I found a hair inside the wrap. It was gross and completely ruined my appetite. It made me question how clean the kitchen is and whether they care about hygiene at all. When I told them about it, they barely reacted. No real apology or concern. They just said they could replace it, as if that would fix the problem.
If you still decide to eat here, I suggest you inspect your food carefully before eating or even before handing it back. Finding a hair in your food shows a lack of basic cleanliness, which is really disappointing.
Also, be careful with the reviews. It seems like many of them are not from real customers. It feels like they were added just to boost the restaurant’s rating. A new place getting so many perfect reviews in just two weeks doesn’t seem real.
I’m not coming back. Clean food and honesty should be the minimum, and sadly this place didn’t...
Read moreI recently tried the Chicken Tikka from this restaurant with family, and I have to say—it was outstanding! The flavors were rich and authentic, with just the right balance of smokiness and spice. The chicken was perfectly marinated, tender, and juicy, and you could tell it had been grilled with care.
What really stood out to us was how fresh everything tasted—the spices were bold but not overwhelming, and each bite had that melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s hard to find. Paired with their mint chutney and warm naan on the side, it was an unforgettable meal.
The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance of the restaurant made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. If you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or just love great food, this place is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
Highly recommend the Chicken Tikka—you won’t be...
